We had an amazing 2 night stay at the Smiddy. We had eaten here before and the food was always exceptional, so. Was lovely to have an room for our weekend away The room was absolutely spotless, and a very comfortable bed for a great night sleep. 2 comfy chairs also to relax and watch TV. Breakfast was excellent with produce that was evidently local and good quality. We ate there both nights, as previously said we knew the food was exceptional, and good value for money. Jasper is of course the most wonderful host. 🐕🐕🐾🐾 Looking forward to visiting again

Myself and a small group of friends stayed here for an evening. Only regret, not eating in the restaurant in the evening as the menu looked great! Breakfast was fab the following day and thank you Nicky and Laura of course in the bar - we had a great time.

A beautiful family run pub (with rooms and restaurant) with a very friendly service! Nikki and Richard have been fantastic hosts and will do everything they can to make you feel welcome. The Rooms are very comfortable, breakfast will set you up for the day and the beers and evening meals will finish off the day. All in all a very good place to call home. Thanks guys, we look forward to returning.

I booked the pub for a Birthday party for 50 people. Niki and team looked after us brilliantly, including my friends who stayed in the accommodation above the pub. The team worked tirelessly to create a welcoming atmosphere, top service and a good time was had by all. They created a hot and cold buffet for us for the party and the food was fantastic. We also enjoyed Sunday lunch plus the big beer garden out the back. Thanks so much!

Tried to make a booking but ended up going elsewhere due to failure to respond. Email enquiry sent about making a booking in 2025. It took 2 days to get a response to my initial enquiry about availability, to which I promptly replied with my prefered dates. It took them A FULL WEEK to reply back to me with confirmation, by which time I had lost faith in their reliability and gone elsewhere. With so many establishments now offering online availability checking, plus instant booking and confirmation, such a slow response is quite unacceptable in this day and age.

Honestly one of the best pubs I’ve stayed in. I stayed for 3 nights and the owners and staff were fantastic. They were very helpful, friendly, and fun. The morning breakfast and Sunday roasts were delicious and the space was very comfortable. Highly recommend staying or visiting when passing through.

Excellent overnight stay on our way further north. Beautiful clean rooms, everything you need with a hearty full Scottish breakfast the next morning . Exceptional friendly team who gave us a warm reception and made our stay great. We would thoroughly recommend and would stay again.

Great wee place to stay. Very well looked after by all. Cosy bar with good pub food and breakfast. Rooms comfy and very quiet so good sleep. Great location for golfers playing local courses. Local people happy to give you information on area. Beer garden if you get the weather. Recommend for good nights sleep.
