Lovely bungalows. Very clean. The bar and restaurant food is excellent and the cocktails to die for. Right on the beach. Staff are attentive and can’t do enough. Especially sopardi who looked after us and arranged a snorkelling trip with his uncle Alex which was amazing. The only problem was the smell in the evenings behind the back bungalows.

I adored my three nights at Mowie’s and would definitely return. Great location on the west side of the island, on the beach, nice breeze off the water in hot weather, near other restaurants and walking distance to bars / live music. You can walk all over the island or rent a bike to enjoy it some more, I just wished I rented the bike from day one! My room was fantastic, great size, good amenities and clean, plus a seating area on the deck. The food at Mowie’s was also define, I ate breakfast and lunch here multiple times for good reason. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I cannot rate Mowie’s highly enough!

We came ready and excited to relax for a few days on the beach. We booked a room that was advertised as a deluxe double with a balcony, and ocean view. The pictures made it look newly refurbished. Unfortunately, the reality was totally different. The room was ground floor, and looked straight into the noisy bar and restaurant. We could hear shouting from the kitchen. You could see the ocean if you craned your neck, but there was absolutely no privacy in the room at all. Furthermore, the floors looked old and moldy, and there was really no furniture other than a bed (not even bedside tables) and maybe a chair. This was not the type of place we could see ourselves wanting to relax in. We did not end up staying there - instead, we moved to L’Archipel. We faced some resistance when we asked for a partial refund - even though it seemed like a popular place - and sure enough, when we walked by the next day, we saw someone else had taken the room, so at least they did not lose out on revenue from us. One other note re Gili Air generally - the mosque is incredibly loud and, unlike in the Middle East, goes off for at least one hour each time (including at 3 and 5 am). It was going all night when we stayed, during Ramadan. I don’t think you would hear it too loudly from Mowie’s because of the wind direction, but it made us cut our entire trip short. We will not be returning to the Gilis.

We have just returned from 4 nights in Mowies, where we paid for a ‘seaside superior bungalow’. We stayed at Mowies towards the end of our trip in Indonesia, where we’d been lucky enough to stay in some very nice hotels. We therefore felt a little underwhelmed upon check in. Firstly the location, staff, bar and restaurant area were all very very good. The bungalows are just across from the beach, which is perfect for sunsets and Mowies serves great food and drinks (the quality and presentation of the food and drinks was probably some of the best we’d experienced in Indonesia, and therefore we agree it deserves a slightly higher price, but honestly wasn’t much more!). Lots of other guests visit Mowies to use their bar/restaurant services, and we enjoyed being able to walk minutes to a huge variety of other options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the beautiful island also. The bungalow itself is where we were disappointed. I appreciate you don’t come on holiday to sit in your room, but equally it just felt rather basic… The room was fairly dark with a damp smell, and of the 4 windows, only 1 (the main sliding door) had a curtain, meaning we had to wear an eye mask to be in darkness. The room was provided with one small wardrobe, meaning we were limited on space for our clothes, there was also no kettle or space for tea/coffee. The towels we were provided in the bathroom weren’t changed during our stay either, making them rather smelly towards the end of our visit! We would 100% return to Gili Air and felt it was the perfect mix of beauty and facilities, however I feel we’d choose to stay elsewhere and only visit Mowies for dinner/drinks during our stay. For fast boats to/from Bali and Lombok, we’d recommend the Golden Queen. Very comfortable (lots of seats and ventilation) and only an hour behind schedule.

Very nice location. Nice foods. But very poor service. I ate there. Food was ok. Area was very nice. They went up to cashier to pay. They showed me code to scan. I paid. Then they said their mechine didnot work and the payment has not come through. But my bank already took my money. The staff said the money should bounce back. Then they asked me to make another payment as the previous one did not come through to their system. Now its been 3 days and my money did not bounce back. I asked them for refund but they did not want to give me any refund. Such a shame. Nice restaurant but they dont do the right thing. They double charged me.

Absolutely great!!! Unforgettable vacation! Lying at the beach, have the greatest cocktails on the island, amazing food, personal attitude, striking views, ohhh it was marvelous ☺️ I want to thank specially to Ipung and his team! They are the best! They even managed to fulfill all of our wild ideas. Thank you ☺️ One of my favorite places on the planet ☺️

We've been there for 2 nights. perfect location, friendly staff. We plan to go there again for the 10th year marriage. This time we would like to take our 18year old daughter and my parents. All the Family. Congratulations

Absolutely loved staying here! Clean bungalows 30 second walk from the beach with brilliant air con! But it was the food and drinks that Mowies is clearly very popular for. Delicious and fresh varied menu and cocktails and juices to die for. THE most perfect place to watch the sunset too. Thank you to all the staff who are so friendly and work very hard. We will be back!

Loved this place. Top quality rooms with THE BEST aircon and bathroom. For the price that you pay for your stay, it’s 5/5’s all round, plus the food in the restaurant is brilliant, catered for vegans, a great selection and had a lovely setting. Only fault was, on the last night, they messed up my order in the restaurant (I’d ordered a plant burger and got a tuna one instead), let a staff member know straight away, they took it back to the kitchen and EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF STAFF gathered round and thought the whole situation was hilarious. Made me feel a bit uncomfortable (which you don’t really want on your holidays). The boss of the hotel visited the next day and normal service resumed, which was pretty comical! Regardless, I’d still give Mowie’s five stars. It was just so lovely and Gili Air is beautiful.
