Green Tree Hotel

Give this hotel A BIG MISS!!!!!!!! Booked in here for a wee New Year’s treat. for a three night's stay. 3 nights in a hostel would’ve been classed as an upgrade! After checking in was taken along a narrow corridor en route for my room. The aroma was not pleasant and the swing door through to the bedrooms showed much shabby and grubby room proof of where the many hands had pushed the door open. (Very dirty). Corridor walls badly needed repainting. Badly scuffed. My room firstly was not at all welcoming. Various notices (one framed) about the no-no’s of hotel policies. The following is a list of my room experience Bathroom shower drainer had hard evidence of verdigris. Room heater on/off switch absolutely mocket (dirty) Armchairs were so well-worn the covering had disappeared in places. Towel (1) was ragged and torn with holes. Bedside lamp….the plug had a charity shop sticker (dirty) assuring that product had passed safety test. Hotel had a nerve charging £245 in the knowledge of room condition. Scunnered to say the least!

Second worst place we have EVER had the pleasure to pay to stay.. The room was very dated and smelled iof dampness, it had cobwebs from the roof(as shown in pictures), it had dampness on the walls, the furniture was well past being In a skip...the lino in the bathroom had holes in it...the wallpaper was crumbling off and the walls had stains on them... and we paid £100 for a night The good point was the breakfast was lovely.....(not a £100 lovely though)

Fabulous meal. Steak Pie was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend! I've come to Peebles for many years and tea at the Green Tree never disappoints. Look forward to the steak pie in particular. Had the pate as a starter and it was also delicious!

I have organised day trips for our Woman's group for over 14 years and this was the best day we have ever had. From my initial inquiry to our arrival the attention I received was first class. Our menu choices were pre ordered, the staff delivered this with a professional precision. This is the first year I have had no grumbles or complaints and from over 25 ladies this is a first. The staff, service quality and presentation were superb.

My husband and I had dinner here twice in the week, and we were certainly not disappointed. The staff are extremely friendly, polite and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing. Quality fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection and delicious. Highly recommend The Haggis Bonbons.

Terrific room overlooking the High Street, friendly staff, good breakfast, lively well stocked bar, great value. There's even a car park with lots of space at the back. Really what's not to like?! Go!
