Just steps away, a 9 × 9 ft “Smokehouse” tiny house—once the farm’s curing shed—adds a creek-side bedroom for two (small nightly fee). Rates scale to guest count, and a convenient restroom was added in 2021. Adventure waits beyond the gate: paddle or tube the New River two minutes away; cast a line at Ashe County Wildlife Club lake in five; ride gentle mounts with Hidden Pastures in ten; tee off at Mountain Aire or Jefferson Landing within fifteen; or explore West Jefferson’s art galleries, craft breweries, and farmers market—also fifteen minutes from the farm. In winter, sled the farm’s hills after a snowfall or reach ski slopes in about ninety minutes. Bring front- or four-wheel drive when snow is forecast; low-clearance cars may bump the erosion water-bars. The farmhouse welcomes up to two well-behaved dogs (small nightly fee); please cover furniture with the provided throws if your pup loves the sofa.
