Casa Cavoquinho

This small hotel gets it's five stars for its stunning location and the welcome you are given. This is an excellent base for staying and hiking on Santo Antao. The elevation ensures a perfect climate and fabulous views. Dinner is good but simple, with a veggie tendency. Small but adequate choice of drinks which are fair value. Packed lunch available at a modest cost.

We have spent 3 nights in Casa Cavoquinho incl. breakfast and dinner. The guesthouse is really nice situated at the end of Paul Valley. From most room you have a look down Up to the ocean - wonderful. The rooms are clean, well equipped and spacious. The owner and service are very kind incl. dog. The owner hast prepared some trials and If you are an experienced hiker he will give additional Tips for trails on the Island. Breakfast and dinner are served with local foods and are delicious. Highlight ist also that you can get free water out of a purification to reduce plastic load overall - big plus from us! All in all we can highly recommend this guest house. Make sure you book a room with Valley View. ⛰️

We stayed for 2 nights at Casa Cavoquinho and it was a pleasure that we got the chance to experience this magical place. Located in the middle of the “jungle” of Paul-Valley and the only thing what we did not like was that we had to leave. Sadly, the owners were not there, we knew that before as they were always reachable for any questions and they helped us out on quite a few things (booking changes, transport, …). Jordi, which took over the responsibility of the Casa made us feel more than welcome and we loved this place and this guy from the very first second. Also the other employees were doing an incredible job and the food/dinner we got there was fantastic. It was the perfect place and starting point for some of our hikes and for exploring this beautiful island. Thank you so much for the chance to make those great memories!

A perfect place to enjoy the natural wonder of Ribeira do Paúl. José recommended us a great hike 900m up to the Cova do Paúl - an unforgettable experience. Both Belén and José are perfect hosts, always helpful in whatever matter. Sitting on the wonderful terrace looking at trees carrying Papaya, Mango, Avocado and other tropical fruits is a great relaxation for the soul. Very recommendable!

Des hôtes charmants, discrets et accueillants. De bons conseils pour les randonnées. Dîners variés et succulents comme les petits déjeuners. L'appartement très spacieux, très propre et confortable. Un havre de paix en pleine nature.

Wir waren zwei Nächte in diesem Hotel auf unserer Rundreise. Vom Zimmer hatten wir eine Traumaussicht auf das Tal. Die Zimmer sind einfach und geräumig. Das Personal ist herzlich und man fühlt sich wohl. Das Abendessen konnten wir nicht aussuchen, aber es war das Beste auf dieser Kapverden Rundreise!! Ein Dank an Olavo für die Wandervorschläge und an die Küche für den Gaumenschmaus. Das Hotel bietet Natur pur. Nachts quaken die Frösche und Morgens krähen die Hähne. Nur ein Parkplatz fehlt direkt vorm Haus und es ist auch nur über Stufen erreichbar. Es ist ein Platz für Naturliebhaber! Oberhalb des Hauses befindet sich ein kleiner Ort mit Geschäften des täglichen Bedarfs. Auf alle Fälle ein Platz den man mit Sicherheit nochmal besuchen möchte.
