This is the best stay I’ve ever stayed It’s a family run pension with two super friendly golden retrievers, the whole house is newly built, extremely clean, and decorated with good taste The dinner and breakfast are western- Japanese fusion, everything is homemade, definitely worth trying There is a nice and clean private onsen, or you can take a bus to have a day trip to other bigger onsen Minakami itself is a countryside area, and the pension is right next to the bus station There is literally nothing around the stay, so you need to get everything you need in Minakami station, but I think it’s a characteristic rather than disadvantage

地點稍微偏僻，年長男性接待人員非常熱心，房間空間大維持得也不錯，但是感覺得出來建築物的年紀。餐點蠻好吃的，不過有幾道料理偏西式，吃得沒有很習慣，比較想吃到的是當地傳統料理。整體而言是令人放鬆的旅館。

Molto consigliato, l'ospite è molto utile. Ci sono colazione e cena simile a una cena fine, deliziosa cibo ogni pasto. La stanza è pulita con un asciugamano anche. E l'atmosfera è molto buona Se tornate qui, restate qui ancora Se vi siete arrivati un mese di neve, dovrebbe essere molto buona.

We had an amazing and relaxing stay! We truly loved it and had a wonderful night surrounded by serene nature. The view was absolutely beautiful — the lake is just right in front of the hotel! The place is spotless and very well maintained. But what truly made our stay special was the incredible staff. A big shoutout to Mr. Ozu, the General Manager, for going the extra mile with his thoughtfulness! When he learned that we were heading to the ropeway the next day (and that there were no bus trips on weekdays), he kindly offered us a ride. He was also genuinely concerned about our hike and overall safety — so heartwarming! Since we didn’t get the dinner package and there was only one restaurant nearby that closed at 4 p.m., we decided to get a takeout for dinner. My friend also asked if there was a nearby café to buy a cake for my birthday, but there wasn’t any. Later that evening, after we came back from the onsen, someone knocked on our door and surprised us with a complimentary cake! They said it was because we didn’t have dinner and they wanted to celebrate my birthday. Awwww! Such a thoughtful and sweet gesture! 🎂💖 In the morning, Mr. Ozu even gave us taxi numbers and the bus schedule for Yumoto Onsen, making sure our travel plans went smoothly. Truly amazing hospitality — we felt so cared for and appreciated throughout our stay! 🌿✨

Nice hotel with breaktaking view over the river from balcony when you soak into privately owned onsen in room. Must visit during winter.

Nice staff. Good room. Location is a bit far from things but good for quiet environment. Driving is a must. The food, good but not as good as some other places we were in before. Recommend to try especially if in the area.

Mi piaceva davvero questo posto. Mi sono fermato nella stanza di stile giapponese, che era così bello mettere insieme. Ha una vista sul fiume e sulle montagne (quando le nuvole e la pioggia non erano lì). Quello che mi piaceva assolutamente era l'amore esterno di Onsen con sauna e piscina di immersione che ho dovuto fare per me stessa le due notti che sono rimasto. Era una magica esperienza di essere là fuori nella pioggia. È a circa 20 minuti a piedi dalla stazione Minakami, ma credo che ci sia un fermo di autobus che mette l'hotel se hai troppo bagagli. Ci sono poche riserve intorno e sembrano tutte chiuse alle 4:00, quindi avvisati 😊

So many little things that make this hotel much better than anything else. The way they show you to your room, the way they put your shoes away and bring them back on your departure date, the way dinner and breakfast is waiting for you at your own private table, the way they let couples share an onsen during quiet hours. My point is - you will feel like a VIP here. The staff and always there, taking care of you in subtle ways, but you never feel watched or intruded on. This kind of invisible service - maybe hard for westerners to understand, but it is excellent. You will feel like you are really being understand and looked after. Highly recommend. Best hotel service I've had in japan in 2 years of living here. Highly recommended.

Our visit to this hotel was perfectly adequate. The traditional setting provided a nice sense of atmosphere, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient. The onsen facilities themselves were clean and relaxing, meeting our expectations for a hot spring experience. Our room was spacious, but the amenities felt a little dated and could use some refreshment. Dinner and breakfast were included, offering a standard array of Japanese cuisine that was palatable, though not exceptional. The staff were polite. Overall, it's a safe and decent choice if you're looking for a no-frills, standard onsen hotel experience.

La cena e la colazione sono auto-assistenti, quindi sono felice che i bambini possano scegliere quello che vogliono. Sono felice che tutti i vegetaristi siano facili da mangiare.Più importante, ogni pasto è delizioso, e io e la mia famiglia dico che voglio andare di nuovo. La calda e'molto comoda, i bambini sono felici. E'attraente poter fare il bagno per 24 ore. Voglio andare di nuovo.
