Fort Murchison Lodge

This was our first stop on our Ugandan adventure and we were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome with a cool towel and a lovely fresh fruit juice. Our room was delightful with a super comfy bed and views out to the Nile River. The food was plentiful with many great vegetarian options. The staff were fantastic, so friendly and welcoming, and happy to share their knowledge of Ugandan culture and wildlife with us. Fort Murchison is a great place to stay to experience all that Murchison Falls National Park has to offer.

Very nice rooms with balconies (ask for a 2nd floor room in the “fort” block of rooms so you can see wildlife from your room terrace). $15 for a set dinner menu (4 course), really good quality food. Staff are very attentive, surroundings are beautiful.

Super cool place (and extremely hot) in the nature with a nice location of the swimming pool. We stayed in a tent, which was alright for two nights, a cool experience. A fan in the tents would be nice. The staff is amazing and so friendly. The food is okay.

My wife and I spent two nights at this property. In our two weeks in Rwanda and Uganda, this was the worst propertty we stayed in! The access road to the property is badly sign posted and getting to the property is worse than the worst safari drive one can imagine! The staff was not very service oriented - when I asked for water at dinner the first night, I was asked to go and help myself at the water dispenser in the dining room! On returning to our rooms after dinner we discovered on pulling back the sheets that the bed was covered with dead or partly dead "leg flies" (as explained by the manager Herbert). Needless to say, we asked for the sheets and pillow covers to be changed. Also no water is provided in the rooms and there are no amenities provided. So bring your own drinking water, shampoo and shower gel.

Wonderful location near the Nile and Murchisson National Park. Big& clean rooms, good beds, nice swimmingpool. very good food and tasteful lunch bags. the garden is very colourful. You could hear the animals on the banks of the river Nile.

This was a very nice experience, from the warm welcome at the reception, nice staff, nice surroundings and good food. The tent was nice, the toilet facilities was adequat. Very nice swimming pool area.
