Paihia Pacific Resort Hotel

Decent place, nice room, nice pool. Tight car parking though as I had someone clash into my car while trying to turn around.

Good location. Ample parking space. Walking distance to ferry pier. Friendly boss.

Staff were super friendly. It was a good price for good accommodation, within walking distance from the beach, restaurants etc. Small things could have earned a full 5 star rating such as extra pillows as ours were a bit flat, having more toilet paper as 3 rolls single ply for 4 people on a 5 day trip didn’t cut it, but overall a good experience. The laundry was a bit dated so we ended up using the laundromat down the road, and we had no idea where the gym or restaurant was which would have been nice to have been informed of when we checked in.

We had a very nice room which was very clean and we were close to some good bars that we had a good time at. We would definitely book at this resort again. Lovely friendly reception when we arrived.

Took the kids for a work/ business trip. Being winter is was very quiet. The room was clean and the front of house manager was very friendly and polite. Would stay there again, it was close to town and good value for money. It has a gym with a good variety of machines and weights.

Manager said he knew TV was not working but did not tell us. Shower drain was blocked and stank, so could not shower. I found the bed to be clean but very hard. The room was clean but in poor condition with water damaged furniture throughout. At breakfast the tinned fruit was fermented and the dishes not very clean. We have stayed here in the past and had reasonably good things to say but not this time.

The room was clean and decent size but the room and bathroom walls and doors need redecorating and at least a fresh paint job. The sliding window didn’t close properly either and I got some odd reason that it was designed that way to let in air. The way to access the room meant I had to walk along the side of the hotel where the bins are without a proper sensor light or set of them. I didn’t feel comfortable walking back that way. The hotel itself was locked and dark after 7. I did ask them to turn a light in at the front and they did do that. The pool was fine but the jacuzzi was half filled with old water and not working. Overall not a good experience despite cheery staff who I felt had no control over changing the situation.

This facility was called a Resort and it was far from it. The room smelled moldy. They did not have an ice machine. The shower was in a bath tub with a half curtain which caused you to get water all over the floor. We got bit by a one inch spider repeatedly one night. (Couldn’t catch him before we had to head out for dinner. ) Informed management who said they would spray. When we got bit the next night he said he could not find it when he went to the room and that we must have brought it with us in our clothes.

Really excellent value for money. Clean room, great beds - comfortable with lovely white starched linens, comfy pillows, clean white towels. Big shower room. We had the included breakfast which was very basic but adequate ( not worth purchasing separately). The Ritz it is not, but it was great for a 1 night stay for the 3 of us! I would recommend this budget hotel
