Grand Basko Hotel Padang

nice food. location is perfectly at the center of padang with nearby food attraction, local amneties and attraction.

It was great experience with BASKO. If you are not familiar with Indonesian food, i recommend strongly nasi goreng in restaurant (for breakfast buffet). And also I want to bring this hotel's orange juice to home. It was the best juice I've ever had. Room service available 24hour. Room is maintain their clearance, but one of disappointing point is sewer, it can't drain well 😭

Location good, bed comfortable. The room is pretty much run down, mold and moisture on the wall in the room, and in the bathroom. AC very loud. The furniture and seats are stained and filthy. Rooms are not soundproof so you hear everything from the corridor including the hotel music running almost 24 hours.

Firstly, I don’t know where they got their 5 stars from. Perhaps they gave them to themselves? This is a 2 star hotel, 3 star if feeling generous. It’s run down and the rooms stink of cigarettes. We booked three rooms for our party and couldn’t accept them. We complained and the receptionist initially wanted more money to change to a non-smoking room. Eventually they changed two of the three rooms to non-smoking rooms without extra payment (but they were acting like they were doing us a favour!?). Further to that, the bedding doesn’t feel fresh. The showers are crap. Only one lift works. The breakfast is acceptable. If they advertised as a 3 star hotel I would expect 3 star. A 5 star hotel this is certainly NOT. On a positive note, the staff are courteous and friendly.

Like most other 'old' upper bracket hotels, Basko is in need of thorough maintenance including partial repurbushing, particularly for the plumbing. Simple needs such as shower head replacement and shower curtain were ignored. Staff are polite and friendly but rather evasive.
