Love the vibe and feel at this hotel. Good breakfast and really gives a good experience of how it feels to have lived in the 70s or so. The only inconvient part was that there are no lifts. So travel light if you want to stay here, otherwise you will need to carry up your luggage up flights if stairs from the parking area as well as to the rooms from the main entrance.

The friendly attitude of the" YURI" was terrific. Showing us all around only added to feeling welcome. We had a good nights sleep and woke up refreshed. The breakfast was terrific. I have never had Custard French Toast before and it was Delicious. Would highly recommend this lovely Mansion !Warm welcome to Pacific Grove

This hotel is absolutely amazing! Beautifully decorated, clean and exclusive. It has oceanview and is located in walking distance to Cannery Row with plenty of restaurants and shops. The straff took great care of us! Juri welcomed us and gave us a tour of the hotel. She made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We will be back😊

Staying at the Martine Inn was a terrible experience. The rooms are really dated (great grandma style), the shower in a tub was a joke so we didn't use it. No TV, no AC, and you can hear your neighbor's bad habits. To top it off, an angry seagull woke us up at 3:00 PM and didn't stop crowing until we left. the so called breakfast was awful. the scrambled eggs probably came from a pre-missed container, the bacon was almost raw and the orange juice came from a bottle...the coffee was so thin it was more like tea. To top it off, they have the nerve to change over $400 per night...they should pay you to stay there. Avoid this place like the plaque!

Terrible doesn’t even begin to describe the sleeping and comfort of the room, the whole matress is sunken towards the middle, and pillows are nothing. The whole bed is falling apart and not supportive. YAfter a week long trip down Cali coast and staying in 5 other places this is the worst comfort and sleep ever. Yes, there is a view which many places offer as well, breakfast is late for most, starts at 8am, and wanting to hit hiking trails that is not early. The bathroom is not only awkward and small in the Pineapple room, the water drips all night and shower is impossible to stretch your arm out and I’m a small lady. If you want to feel some history I recommend visiting an antiques museum and sleeping elsewhere. Not comfortable of a rest and on top of that freezing cold in the room with zero heating or fireplace even.

We been staying with them for over 20 years. The staff is always pleasant, helpful and just friendly. We always feel at home. The breakfast is excellent and the view can’t be beat❤️ Walking on the trail in the morning is just relaxing and you met so many people with their pets. It’s in walking distance of Monterrey that we did a couple of days.

Changes with new owner: weird egg things at breakfast, no bacon or sausage, broken furniture in a $500/night room, eliminated wine & appetizers at 5. At least he kept the superb staff.

What a delight. This estate from the early 1900s is right on the water, a fifteen minute walk West to Lover's Point or fifteen minute walk East to the aquarium. The property is older and doesn't have all the modern bells and whistles, i.e. no tv or electronics in room, older outlets, older plumbing, but that is part of the charm. The interior, complete with antique furnishings throughout, is a step into a more bygone era, right down to the full service silver in the dining room. The private estate has been the Martine Inn for over 40 years. Breakfast is all made on premises whether it is muffins, cinnamon bread or english muffin and combined into things like french toast with a custard top or english muffin with a scramble of egg, artichoke hearts vegetables and cheese on top and the coffee is top line. Not a large breakfast, but just the thing to start the day. Our room was furnished with antique desk, wardrobe, small table and chairs though the bed had a newer and very comfortable mattress. The only drawbacks to our room was the built in shower which was extremely small and the bed linens were a bit thin meaning we had to keep the heat up a bit at night. There is a library, a conference room and several spots outside to sit. The dining room has a wall of windows facing the ocean where we watched a couple of sea otters playing in the surf as well as some seals cruising by. The staff all made us feel right at home and were available anytime. Innkeeper Yuri was a true delight. We've stayed a few places in Pacific Grove and we will definitely be coming back here.
