Hotel in zona Department for Continuing Education, Oxford

Hotel situato in buona posizione, il palazzo si presenta bene all’esterno mostrando un carattere storico. Gli spazi comuni all’interno (hall, scale, ascensore, corridoi) sono poco illuminati, con arredamento troppo scuro, pesante e vetusto (non antico!). La stanza era piccola e certamente non all’altezza degli standard di un 5 stelle: moquette macchiata, muri sporchi e rovinati, lenzuola e copriletto non stirati, gli infissi in legno delle finestre erano scrostati e rovinati, il bagno troppo piccolo sebbene pulito e funzionale. Perfino la porta di ingresso alla stanza era storta, così come il pavimento e la porta dell’armadio. La vista della camera affacciava su un cortile interno maltenuto. A ciò si aggiunge la mancanza di cura dei dettagli, altro requisito essenziale di un hotel a 5 stelle. Unica caratteristica in linea con un hotel 5 stelle è il prezzo. In definitiva, questo non è per niente un hotel 5 stelle, chi cerca tale tipologia di hotel deve dirigersi altrove; questo hotel può andare bene a chi cerca un hotel 3 stelle, spartano e senza pretese ma con un prezzo assai elevato per ciò che offre. Ho avuto una grande esperienza all'Holiday Inn Pear Tree Oxford, il personale era molto amichevole, utile e aperto a chat, in particolare il manager che ha dato al signor alcune buone raccomandazioni sui pub per mangiare a Oxford, La signora che mi ha controllato e un gentiluomo che lavorava per controllare con chi ho avuto una bella conversazione e conosce la città da dove vengo. Le strutture sono eccellenti e di lusso, con bar, zona da pranzo e lobby molto pulito e rilassante. La mia camera era molto elegante, pulita con TV a schermo grande, aria condizionata e caldaia privata con sacchetti di tè e caffè, la camera da bagno era anche molto pulita. Raccomando vivamente a chiunque di rimanere qui se nella zona di Oxford e voglio un soggiorno tranquillo e rilassante con un ottimo servizio clienti.

Sicuro, pulito, buon prezzo. Potrebbe fare con un rifornimento, ma tutto funziona bene. Il letto era confortevole ma squillato. Grande valore per soldi, grande per esplorare Oxford e solo da qualche parte per dormire. Molti negozi vicino. Ci sarebbe un'ora di cammino al centro di Oxford, ma abbiamo appena ricevuto un taxi di 11 sterline, c'era anche un autobus.

We stayed for two evenings in May to visit Blenheim palace. We had two rooms, both superior, one on the first floor of the pub and one leading out to the front. Both rooms were beautiful; the one outside had very low ceilings and beams (ok for us as we’re not tall), with a big clawfoot bath and a walk in wardrobe. It also had the most stunning fireplace that backs on to the one in the pub. The other room had a huge 6ft bed and a very big walk in shower. Both were incredibly comfortable and we slept well both nights. We ate at the pub both evenings; the first night a young chap was managing the restaurant, he and the team did a phenomenal job. The service and the food was superb. He second evening we shared the steak (we had two between the four of us) and it was amazing. Again the food and service was fabulous. On the Saturday we were the only ones eating breakfast, the service was prompt and the food delicious. However the breakfast on the Sunday was an absolute disaster; the chap who seated us (I didn’t catch his name but he had an overseas accent) took our order and then we waited…. We waited and waited as he seated others, took their orders and their breakfasts came while we waited. The room wasn’t full, there were about 5 other tables seated (and he walked past us several times and looked at the table). When we asked him, he blamed the kitchen then went to find out what had happened. He came back and apologised and said it would be with us shortly (to be clear, two of us were only having toast!) only for us to have to chase again. An hour had gone by and we still had no breakfast (every other table had come and gone by then. After chasing a second time, he brought out one cooked breakfast (with the wrong eggs) and an omelette (the other order was for poached eggs on toast), oh and then the toast! We explained this was wrong so he blamed the kitchen again and then said he’d get them to make poached eggs but we said we’d rather not have rushed poached eggs (and to be honest it had been over an hour, we had to get off). There was an almighty row going on between him and the kitchen (I imagine the order simply hadn’t made it and then he’d guessed). We were gutted, it had been such a lovely stay with two fabulous meals and great service and it ended like that. We were told that a guest had a flat battery and they were trying to help out with that, but to me there’s no excitement for that level of service in a breakfast room where only 5 tables have taken breakfast. When I checked out he apologised it did not make eye contact. I really wanted to be writing a positive review and like I said the majority of the stay was super, to the point we’d discussed returning g. However that wouldn’t happen now, which is a shame.

L'ambiente dell'hotel è fantastico.Il tipico panorama inglese, l'erba verde e il piccolo fiume sono molto tranquilli.La stanza è molto grande e il letto è molto comodo.Andare in città per prendere un'auto e essere comodo.In futuro rimarrà molto consigliato.

This is without doubt THE best hotel I have been to. The food is delicious. The room was comfortable and tastefully decorated. There is a lovely relaxed atmosphere but what really makes this place special are the staff who are so polite and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. A special mention must go to Amy, Louis and Rory who really looked after us and made all feel very special.

It is a super good hotel. Very convenient to the super market, the hotel is very new, everything is very tidy and clean. The breakfast is good. The staffs are very nice and polite. I will suggest our friends to stay this hotel.

Wonderful hotel just 3 min drive from Bicester village . Breakfast is poor for Muslim Family but still included in the price. We were lucky to be here with some 65 pounds for 3 people but 25£ for a dog charge. Clean , nice staff, good amenities.

Il parcheggio è molto conveniente, la colazione è ricco, il servizio della ricetta è entusiasta, vale la pena tornare indietro .La posizione geografica è eccellente, le strutture sono perfette, le strutture della stanza sono molto nuove, vivremo la prossima volta.
