Hotel in zona Detours Trail, Oughterard

This was a return trip to the castle, as my husband and I stayed there for two nights in 2017. Of course, the Castle was beautiful, the grounds stunning and the rooms and accommodations were 5-Star level and lived up to our expectations. But it was the staff and how they made us feel that brought me back for a week the second time with my 20 year old nieces, six years later. I would give the Castle 10 stars if I could! This time we did all of the on-site experiences... falconry, guided bike tours, horse-back riding, the Spa, big and small boat rides, afternoon tea and our favorite, the Unique Experiences with Eoin who curated a day with wonderful local craftsmen and women where we made soda bread, cheese and worked with a beekeeper. Eoin is such a great human being, made us comfortable, laughed with us and taught us so much about the West of Ireland. Again... everything about the Castle visually is stunning and breathtaking. So much attention to detail on the grounds, the forest, the castle itself and rooms are beautiful. We joked that there is magic fairy dust in the beds because they were more comfortable than any we have slept in. The restaurants cater to your needs and food is 5 Star worthy, we are not foodies, but our appreciation of all of the hard work put into our meals and their presentation was always present. All of that said, with 6 days at the Castle... it was once again the staff that made the difference for us. Luke always greeted us warmly and gregariously at the gates, Marty and all the doormen always welcoming us home, Thomas, Shane and Davida in Guest Services were making sure we were comfortable and inquiring about our days with laughter and warmth. They made such a difference to our stay. Paul and Simon in the bar were lovely and accommodating always and Agnes and Katelyn in the restaurants repeatedly made our days even brighter. The staff at Mrs. Teas helped us repeatedly and offered many items that we purchased for ourselves and for gifts to bring home. Yes, the Castle has a 5 Star designation and that marker is well-deserved. But is and will always be the staff, the people that fill the castle with warmth and genuineness and humor that will bring me back. When we left, we were sad to go but our hearts were full with the people, the soul and the warmth of the West of Ireland brought to us by Ashford Castle.

La mia camera era la 631 con un grande letto king size, scrivanie, un bagno adeguato con vasca e doccia, sedili con tavolo, scrivania e TV e tutti i soliti servizi in una camera d'albergo. Niente prese vicino al letto, il che è qualcosa che tutti gli hotel devono avere ora, ma quella era l'unica critica alla stanza. Il personale era adorabile, disponibile e cordiale, anche se do 4 stelle perché il check - in non è avvenuto per 10 minuti a causa della mancanza di personale alla reception, non ho idea del perché, ma è stato risolto OK. L'hotel è pulito, la camera era pulita, ben presentata e molto accogliente. Ho fatto colazione che era la normale colazione a buffet cucinata, toast, pancake, pane, cereali, tè o caffè, succhi di frutta con molte opzioni di posti a sedere e vista sul mare. Il personale era eccezionale, il cibo era buono e l'atmosfera rilassata. La vista ti dà un ottimo inizio di giornata. Ho usato la piscina che era fantastica. Alcune famiglie lì con bambini, una corsia per nuotare, un bagno turco funzionante, una sauna e una vasca idromassaggio riscaldata. La vasca idromassaggio esterna è incredibile. È un must in questo hotel. Durante il mio soggiorno stava piovendo, quindi il campo da tennis esterno e l'area giochi per bambini non venivano utilizzati, ma vale la pena ricordare che li hanno. La posizione sembra remota ma è a soli 5-10 minuti in auto da Salthill e Galway. C'è un distributore di benzina accanto all'hotel sulla strada principale e un piccolo villaggio. Immagino che tu acceda all'hotel in auto, taxi o autobus.

Excellent hotel so accommodating, nothing was an issue, my elderly mother felt so comfortable and the food was fantastic, loved the breakfast!! Can’t say enough about the place will definitely be coming back

Guardare il punteggio dell'hotel a Trip.com non è 4.5, in realtà è ancora buono. L'hotel è grande, ha una sala confortevole, c'è un bar al primo piano, può essere portato alla piazza esterna. Ci sono tavoli sul piazzale. Puoi godere dell'aria fresca mentre bevi e bevi. L'aria qui è molto fresca.

I stayed at Flannery’s Hotel Galway for two nights as part of a tour group. It located a short bus ride away from the centre of the city and is is a fair walk from shops and services but not difficult to get to by any means. I stayed in a twin room and both the room itself and the hotel complex were clean and well maintained. Staff were respectful and helpful throughout my stay, getting fans for our room on two occasions to make myself and my friends stay more comfortable. The room was spacious and catered to our needs well. The breakfast provision was decent however the hot food is served by a staff member and can only be accessed once as they run it by a voucher system. As well, for those with dietary requirements the staff were a bit unsure of the nut contents of foodstuffs during breakfast as well as in a dinner service. We enjoyed the dinner but more options for those with dietary requirements and restrictions would be beneficial as pickings were limited or not able to be met for the three courses provided. That said, this is a lovely hotel, one I would recommend to those coming to Galway. I really enjoyed my stay there.
