Holiday Inn Resort Warsaw - Jozefow

Having stayed in this hotel twice before I was quite suprised at the general downturn in all the services. The reception staff lacked training and didn't really seem to know what they were doing, nothing in the room worked properly, tv volume was stuck, and the hairdryer stopped working after 5 seconds. The room itself was comfy and spacious, so no complaints there. The quality of the breakfast was definitely lower than before, with cheaper quality goods. The restaurant prices have nearly doubled in 2 years and our fish dinner was smelly and off and had to be sent back. The pool was fine, but some of the pool clientele left a lot to be desired, including a (in)famous local ultra rightwing politician! Payment on checkout proved to be extremely difficult and money was taken from our account twice. All in all, it's not a bad place, but it's not great either and the lack of any investment in the facilities is starting to show badly.

We stayed in this hotel for a week back in March 2022 while figuring out where to go next. We have run away from the war that just broke down in Ukraine. Our friend brought us to this hotel, and we loved it and felt safe and welcomed. The location is beautiful. A quiet place surrounded by pine trees and lovely, large territory perfect for walks and lots of fresh air. Excellent facilities for kids - a very nice playground outside and a lovely children's space inside the hotel. Rooms are nice sized with a balcony and everything needed for a great stay. The staff is absolutely fantastic and very kind. They gave Ukrainians free meals (lunch and dinner) and looked after us so well; the maids were incredibly supportive! The breakfast is delicious and fresh with lots of choices. This hotel is excellent for a lovely family stay or relaxing and recharge. We also want to thank once again all the fantastic and very kind Polish people for being so kind and supportive and sheltering us at such difficult times. We will never forget your kindness and hospitality!

Just outside Warsaw, but relatively well connected by train, is the HIR Jozefow; an idyll on the edge of extensive forests and a small tributary of the Vistula, the Swider. A relaxing stay is guaranteed simply because of this location. In addition, the house offers many recreational opportunities, from the spa area to the golf and tennis courts and bicycle rental to a ropes course for children, which offer new varieties every day. On arrival at HIE Jozefow a room upgrade and various nicely designed amenities were waiting for us. The view from the balcony glided over the abundant trees of the hotel property, the playgrounds and sports fields as well as the golf courses. The afternoon sun, when it seemed, heated us up strongly. The beds were of high quality and provided a restful sleep. If you wanted, you could choose from the richly filled (paid) minibar or help yourself to the other cold and hot drinks provided free of charge. In the bathroom, only the ancient shower curtain, which was to be replaced by a fixed shower enclosure, disturbed. Even showering in a bathtub is probably no longer quite up to date, but practicable for sporty condition. Culinary highlights of our stay were the visits to the restaurant Luna & Sol of the hotel. The new chef knew how to create an offer that goes far beyond the level of a usual Holiday Inn, especially in the evenings; and this at a reasonable price level. Whether you helped yourself to the extensive buffet or put together an à la carte menu yourself: local, fresh products, cleverly prepared, always contributed to a successful evening. Of the leisure facilities, we once again made intensive use of the spa area during our stay. The swimming pool and the two saunas promised a varied stay almost at any time. Unfortunately, the indoor pool has only five, quite uncomfortable, because much too hard loungers (without pads), which should be exchanged for those much more comfortable loungers from the relaxation area of the spa. We would like to take this opportunity to thank two people who made our stay extremely pleasant, on behalf of the many employees we met: On the one hand, the Front Office and Reservation Manager who always had an ear for our concerns; on the other hand, the General Manager did everything in his power, to give us a feeling of well-being during our days in "his" house. Even in its 15th year of existence, the Holiday Inn Jozefow more than lives up to its reputation as a 4-star first-class hotel. The standards that the management practices in this house should give other hotels an example of how upscale hotels should and can function despite the current, worldwide difficulties.

Hotel położony ciekawie, blisko rzeki Świder, w pewnym oddaleniu od reszty zabudowań (ale nie aż tak, jak sugerują niektóre zdjęcia ;-)), dobry na weekendowy wypad lub zorganizowanie imprezy. Akurat byłam w dość mało sprzyjającym oglądaniu okolicy terminie (początek marca) i mój spacer ograniczył się do pochodzenia po terenie blisko hotelu. Pokój przyzwoity, dobrej wielkości, dość wygodne łóżka. Czajnik, uzupełniana kawa i herbata oraz woda mineralna. Łazienka z wanną (na szczęście szklany parawan, a nie zasłonka, jak na zdjęciach ;-)), dużo miejsca przy umywalce. Kosmetyki w dużych pojemnikach, ale rozmaite: nad wanną szampon i płyn pod prysznic, a przy umywalce mydło i balsam. Ogrzewanie działające nawet zbyt dobrze - dopiero następnego dnia udało się uzyskać bardziej komfortową do spania temperaturę ;-). Basen nieduży, ale nadający się do pływania (tylko trzeba przyjść zaraz po otwarciu, potem robi się tłoczno ;-)), przy basenie ręczniki (w standardowych pokojach nie ma szlafroków). Śniadanie z dobrym wyborem i dobrej jakości; mieliśmy też lunch i kolacje w formie bufetu, tu jedzenie było znakomite, smaczne i zróżnicowane. Cztery oczka to może nawet zbyt niska ocena, ale było drobne niedociągnięcia niepozwalające dać 5. Bardziej sprawiedliwie byłoby 9/10.

O każdej porze roku odwiedzam Hotel Holiday Inn Józefów od samego początku, gdy został zbudowany, w tej leśnej scenerii, tak blisko od Warszawy. W tym roku odwiedziłem dwukrotnie, w lipcu, w środku lata, wraz z przyjaciółmi. Bardzo serdeczna gościnność zaczyna się już na recepcji, doskonale przygotowany zespół wita każdego indywidualnie. Świetna znajomość języka angielskiego. Obok stoją słoiczki z miodem z własnej pasieki, miły gest na powitanie w tym bardzo klimatycznym obiekcie (za drobną opłatą do kupienia jako prezent). Otrzymałem wspaniałą leśną suitę, z balkonowymi widokami na przepiękne lasy. Wygodne łóżka, codzienny serwis bezpłatnych herbat, kawy, kakao oraz wody pitne są standardem. Powitalny talerz owoców i czerwone wino nadały serdecznej nuty splendoru. Mimo że nie jest to obiekt czterogwiazdkowy, postawiono na elegancką i luksusową aurę pobytu dla gości, choć umeblowanie pokoi wskazuje już powoli na dłuższy czas użytkowania. Wszystko jednak zadbane i czyste. Wspaniały, jasny, czysty basen hotelowy zachęca do pływania i odpoczynku. Sauny obecnie uruchamiane są dopiero po godz 18, lecz na życzenie wcześniej, rozumiemy, że potrzebne są pewne elementy oszczędzania, po uciążliwym okresie niedziałania hotelu w latach kryzysu pandemii, aby goście mogli korzystać ze stosunkowo przystępnych cen za pobyt w hotelu. Bardzo smaczny i godny po,scenka jest tzw bufet szwedzki w hotelowej restauracji, nowy Szef Kuchni stara się niezwykle i wszystko jest przygotowane na najwyższym poziomie. Zimne przekąski, wyrafinowane zupy, przeróżne dania na ciepło i wspaniale domowe ciasto, wszystko na naprawdę najwyższym i zaskakującym poziomie, dodajmy, że w przystępnej cenie ( oby pozostała taka jeszcze długo ). Troszkę irytuje praktyka obsługi kelnerskiej, czasami zbyt powolnej, lecz dobrze wyszkolonej. Dziwi fakt proszenia gosci indywidualnych o podpisanie już przy wejściu rachunku za jeszcze nie zjedzone potrawy, zanim usiadło się do stołu, to niezbyt przychylny dla gości i tworzący złą harmonię, przykład nieporozumień, tak, jakby nie ufano, że po zjedzeniu, rachunek zostanie uregulowany. Przyznam, że to niespotykana praktyka, która przypomina bar mleczny. Po miłych, ale i dosyć przykrych przeżyciach i rozmowach w tej sprawie, mamy nadzieję, że zmieni się ten troszkę uciążliwy sposób procedury przy kasie restauracji. Śniadania tam rownież, obfite, smakowite, można zamówić dania jajeczne u kelnerki. Szkoda, że soki nie są świeżo wyciskane, lecz rozumiem buchalterię obliczeń. Można by jednak dodać małą stację z sokowirowką do samoobsługi ( marchewki, jabłka itd, nie kosztowne, a daje świeże pole do popisu ). Wychodząc z obiektu specjalną bramką na elektroniczny klucz pokojowy, znajdujemy się nad samą rzeczką Świder, i godzinami można spacerować w środku absolutnej ciszy, latem przebywać na malutkich, bezludnych plażach, a nawet dojść do ujścia Świdra do Wisły, niezwykle malownicze krajobrazy.
