Is your heart yearning to step away from the city hustle and bustle? Visit Frans Indongo Lodge and step into the calmness and silence of the Namibian Savanna, surrounded by scents of grass and acacias. The Frans Indongo Lodge Terrace is the ideal setting for a leisurely ending to an eventful day, allowing you to enjoy a chilled drink while soaking up the reflection of spectacular hues of red over the sandstone rocks of the Waterberg Plateau on the side of the thorn bush savanna. Situated approximately 43 km from Otjiwarongo, Namibia, Frans Indongo Lodge is the ideal stop when travelling between Windhoek and Etosha National Park or the Caprivi. A relaxing restaurant is available on the Frans Indongo Lodge premises, allowing you to start your day with a scrumptious breakfast, enjoy a slice of cake for teatime, or indulge in truly Namibian cuisine in the evenings. All of the meals are prepared fresh and from scratch, using locally sourced produce, ensuring that you experience the wonders of Namibian food. After a long day in the Savanna Bush veld, you can bathe in the sun whilst relaxing on the Sundeck at the Swimming Pool, watching a succession of Sable Antelope, Black Springbok and Nyala quench their thirst at the nearby watering hole. During the day, you can explore the various activities available at the Frans Indongo Lodge. The lodge and rooms were built from materials like natural stone, wood, and reed that were used for building houses in the Ovambo tribes. Items of daily use in the Ovambo tribe (e.g., earthen pots, voluminous storage baskets, and original wooden figures) serve as decoration to emphasise the African theme, lending a very special charm to the lodge. We have 3 different types of accommodation available, namely: double rooms, 2-bedroom family units, single rooms, and a camping site. All of the rooms at Frans Indongo Lodge are equipped with their own bathroom, air conditioning/heating, fridge, mosquito net, hairdryer and an electric kettle for tea and coffee. Perfection. Family / cosy small piece of paradise . Welcome, room, diner, pool, view on animals are just perfect. Particular excellence on the personal, friendly, nice and extremely professional. I hardly put any comments on TripAdvisor, but here it deserves it. Perfect work, well done . We will be back with pleasure.

It’s amazing and so well located. The food is wonderful and everyone who work here are extremely nice and helpful. The pool area is great and the view is breathtaking. It’s a charming place and I would go back. We were here with our two children but I would go back on a romantic weekend with my husband. The atmosphere is very laid back and with all the green landscape around us, it reminds me of Bali with the rice terrace.

The lodge is in a perfect location. Not too far from Windhoek and easily accessible with a sedan. I love the spacious rooms, good food, very welcoming and accommodating staff that caters to any request you have, the well-lit animal-frequent waterhole and ambient atmosphere. It is a great place to hideaway for tranquility. I loved my stay there, as always.

Beautiful lodge between Windhoek and Caprivi. Close to Waterberg. Very good food, great hospitality and very clean accommodation. The staff at the lodge was very competent and friendly. The game drive can be recommended. The whole lodge was very clean.

This lodge is located in the flush green part of the land. It has very traditional roofs, which create verry high ceilings in the rooms, made of just some kind of grass. But be aware of that they come down very low, so watch your head. The lodge is cosy with some small water dams. The furniture in the rooms is generous with large beds and a sofa. All the windows give you a feeling of being in a green landscape. The bathroom is also good. The breakfast is OK, even if hot water in thermos, simple teabags and no teapots does not make the best tea. The dinner was good, but not special. They are much into own grown herbs and vegetables. The vine alternatives are more than usually, which I appreciate. However, the sparkling wine did not have any bubbles left, it was probable served from an open buttle without a champagne stopper. I really recommend their evening drive since you see a lot of several animals. We had also the good luck of seeing a rhino and her calf grassing just a few meters from our jeep.

We spent one night camping here. The spot was amazing with a great view and a beautiful sunset. Sadly we did not see many wildlife but that is nothing the lodge can plan. The road is a bit rocky but fun. The capsite had a nice fireplace and there was no one else there, so it was also very quiet. Bathrooms were clean and spacious. Don't forget your torch, there is no electronical light other than around the bathroom facilities. The lodge seemed very nice as well but the campsite is a bit off site so we did not spend that much time there. However, the staff was very nice and friendly, even joking around a bit.

The area of the lodge is beautiful. The green grass between the small cottages was surprising but felt amazing. Our room was actually a whole cottage for ourself and very spacious. The food in the evening was great, the breakfast as well. When you get up in the morning you just have to step out and can see some animals grassing a few meters away over the fence. We were a bit sad that we only had one night here. If you can, definitely stay longer. They offer game drives and also have a whole area for hiking for between 1-3 hours. If we ever come back to Namibia we will definitely stay here again.

Spoiled to distraction. Service from arrival to departure could not be faulted. Dinner and Breakfast was a delight, sundowners overlooking the waterhole with lots of animals just contributed to a fabulous stay. Our cottage was heavenly appointed, bathroom in itself made for enjoyment. Wish we couldve stayed longer.

The lodge is really a great place to start your stay in Namibia (if you start this way round). Located at the end of a 15km gravel road (get used to it) it’s really quiet and relaxing. Very confy bungalows (even with WIFI) in a garden setting. The lodge has a waterhole and a lovely terrace / bar area overlooking it so the ideal place to have a drink before dinner. Delicious menu which also catered for vegetarians (2 of us). Super friendly staff make our stay perfect. Take the walk up the hill if you have time to check-out the landscape.
