Heritage House Bed & Breakfast - Boutique Adults-Only Inn

We had just returned from two weeks in Italy, staying at Michelin rated elegant hotels and villas. The Heritage House property and amenities easily rivaled any of those (much more expensive) European properties. The only difference was that staffing consisted solely of the two gracious proprietors, but as the room was so thoughtfully and completely stocked, no additional staffing was ever needed. The suite was large, immaculate, and elegantly furnished with every need anticipated. The impeccably renovated 1913 mansion was full of interesting art and period decor; a pleasure to walk through and explore. Upon arrival, our breakfast order was taken and was awaiting us exactly at the time requested in the dining room the next morning. And need I say it was beautifully presented, expertly prepared,and absolutely perfect. After breakfast, it was a 5 minute walk to the historic downtown district with interesting shops (still too full to consider any of the cozy coffee shops). My wife had stayed on another occasion, and had told me how nice the Heritage House was, but I was still surprised by the level of excellence. Considering how easy the drive from Atlanta is, it would actually be worth considering for a weekend getaway. And the Auburn campus is an easy 15-20 minute drive away…

Stay here with my mother and my daughter. My daughter had to take a class for work and this location was perfect. Walking distance to historic downtown. Lovely host! Leif was very attentive and helpful even willing to serve my daughter’s breakfast early so she could eat before class. Would recommend this place for everyone.

Staying at the Heritage House was a wonderful, top notch experience! The 1913 historic home is absolutely beautiful. The owners are friendly, warm, accommodating and onsite, but at the same time non-intrusive. Breakfast was fantastic and presented beautifully in a spacious dining area with plantations shutters and antique furnishings. The grand house contains lots of nooks and crannies, and outside areas to relax. The cute downtown of Opelika is a short walk away. It was a nice alternative to the busier Auburn areas but close enough to see our students easily. We plan to be back!

This lovely historic home was built in 1913 and is beautifully decorated, with each room tastefully and splendidly adorned with furniture and art, carefully creating a unique ambience for each room. Breakfasts are served in an enchanting dining room, with French cafe music and superb meals providing the perfect harmony of aural, olfactory, and gustatory pleasure. We highly recommend this historic bed and breakfast experience to visitors to Opelika/ Auburn and environs.

Such a beautiful home! Very clean and super comfortable. The hosts were very friendly. And there were little touches everywhere like complimentary snacks, plush robes, and extra toiletries. I am already recommending this to friends because it's just a 15 minute drive to Auburn University and wonderful alternative to the overpriced hotels!

Stayed with family at this beautiful property. The hosts were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious! There were several restaurant options within walking distance. We also found a fun wine bar in town. We will be back for a future visit soon.
