Oneta Resort

From the moment we were warmly welcomed at the airport by Niu and Soro, and then arriving to the sound of a beautiful welcome song on Ono Island, we knew Oneta would be special. What we didn’t expect was just how extraordinary the experience would be. Every single member of the Oneta team made us feel cared for, valued, and at home. From sharing stories over delicious meals, to snorkelling the vibrant coral gardens of the Great Astrolabe Reef, and learning about rich Fijian traditions, not a single moment felt ordinary. Special thanks to Richard, whose calm coordination and humour made everything run so smoothly, and to Anne at the Dive Center, whose passion for the ocean and marine conservation made our snorkelling trips both safe and deeply meaningful. Exploring the reef with Anne, Don, George, and Kasa gave us not only incredible memories but also a newfound appreciation for the ecosystem. We were also moved by the work of the Oneta Foundation. It was wonderful to see that behind this stunning resort lies a genuine commitment to the people, culture, and environment of Kadavu. Being able to contribute school supplies to the local children was an honour. Every smile, every detail, every behind-the-scenes effort from the kitchen, housekeeping, boat crew, and gardeners reminded us of the true meaning of the Bula spirit. Martin and Liz’s vision and love for this place is evident everywhere, and it truly felt like a home away from home. We left not just as guests, but as family. This was truly one of the most memorable experiences of our lives, and we can’t wait to return. Until then: vinaka vakalevu to the entire Oneta team!

What an amazing place; great location, great people, great service, great food, great everything! If you're looking for a truly authentic Fijian experience, this is the place to go. Everyone was so friendly, the resort is perfectly located, with amazing snorkelling and diving opportunities.

Whether you are a keen diver, snorkeller or you want to soak up some peaceful island life in the South Pacific with warm Fijian hospitality, Oneta Resort is one of the best. It is accessed by plane via Kadavu Island and then by an hour’s boat ride from the beach at end of the runway which added to the experience. Oneta is outstanding, The bures are delightful, complete with outside showers and tropical flowers in abundance. The food and beverage service is second to none and we loved chatting to the other visitors at breakfast, over dinner and at sunset whilst we learned more about the local area from the helpful resort team. The waterfront team’s professional operation – I loved it – took us to some really impressive and beautiful underwater sites. It was so good to see the coral recovering after the most recent cyclone. We don’t normally stay in one place for more than 3 nights but the minimum 5 night stay was too short. I have already booked our return visit next year.

It was the 4 Time in Oneta Resort, and for sure not the last Time. I think this says a lot, when i travel from Germany to Fiji again and again… just to stay in this Resort. Its a paradise, super Staff, great Resort, excellent Food, fantastic Reefs, Mantas, Corals… everything. See you soon Yours Ann & Stivi :-)

This is so far above the idea of resort. It’s more of an immersion into a tiny little piece of Fijian culture and community. We went for mantra Rays and diving and time with our family and left with a whole new family. Also, lots of epic diving and Mantra Rays. It’s off the beaten tourist track and not for everyone but if you want to see a little of Fiji that is not resorts, tours and crowds this is a must.

Bula Bula! This was by far the greatest vacation of my life. My mom and I absolutely loved our time in Fiji at Oneta and are already planning to return. The resort and staff feel like family. It was truly more than we could have ever expected, with delicious food and very cozy rooms (with a lovely outdoor shower!) Anne is amazing and made sure we were able to experience everything that we had hoped for, and more (snorkeling, private island days, waterfall hike, massages, Kava ceremony, swimming through the cave and building our family rock pile, swimming with the manta rays and the discovery scuba dive - which we would never of considered if it weren't for Bill and Anne!) The staff: Annie, Melani, Bill, Ben, Jionni, George, Sim, Meli, Siko, Melika, Don and Neu (and everyone that I missed) were truly amazing people and made the wildest of excursions safe, fun, and incredibly memorable. From hermit crab races, to paddle boarding in the Pacific Ocean, to simply reading in the hammocks - nothing about this trip was less than extraordinary. The village tour was one of our favorite parts of our experience. The children were so fun and loving! I can't imagine visiting any other resort in Fiji other than Oneta. Vinaka Vakalevu!!
