Kilcar Lodge

This is a lovely B&B in the village of Kilcar, County Donegal. We were warmly welcomed by Teresa, and shown to our room. It was spotless and well-appointed, with a good-sized bathroom (larger than we expect in most B&Bs). Our room overlooked the off-street parking area, as well as a local community garden, and a small stream runs behind the building, adding to the peacefulness of the place. The location is walking distance to village pubs and to Studio Donegal. We had an excellent hot breakfast each morning. There aren’t really any restaurants in Kilcar for an evening meal, but The Rusty Mackeral in Teelin is only a few miles away. If you want to venture a little further afield, there are numerous dinner options in Killybegs and Donegal Town. We would definitely stay again at Kilcar Lodge. It’s clean, quiet, and in a great location, and Teresa is a lovely hostess.

We called Kilcar Lodge at very short notice and were delighted to be able to get a friendly welcome from the owner, Teresa. This is a super place in a nice quiet, well located village, Kilcar Lodge is a lovely house, great breakfast and Teresa is a great host. We used it as a base to visit the spectacular Slieve League cliffs, Co Donegal.

Stayed in Kilcar Lodge for two nights. Location suited for our hiking needs. The room was comfortable with all the amenities I needed. Breakfast was top class. My host Teresa was lovely and very helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Kilcar Lodge is a wonderful B& B. Teresa is very kind and helpful and makes sure everything is great. Breakfast is great, the rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable. You won’t be disappointed. Only a minute or two walk to central of town which has 3 pubs, a grocery store, a woolen mill, fast food pickup. Teresa will recommend several places for dinner nearby. She’s a very dear soul. She left a gift for my birthday and my husband and I wedding anniversary on our bed one evening which touched our hearts. Highly recommend !

The rooms were wonderful. Great full Irish breakfast. Teresa was very nice. She was very helpful about things to do in the area. This was right in the middle of town with easy walking to everything. There was parking on site.
