This place is a gem! Clean, excellent location, amazing staff (Yuly rocks ), the al freso breakfast was delicious with a great view. Our room was spacious and (again) clean. The bed and linens were very comfortable. Our every need was met with the room and the hotel description is accurate. The views off the room patio cannot be beat! The morning after an evening storm treated us to private show of the local wildlife The grounds are well kept and pleasant to stroll through. We will be back!

This is a real boutique hotel with just a few rooms. As can be seen from the pictures, the view from the pool is picturesque and pretty. We actually saw some small animals including monkeys from the pool. The hotel is a little out of the way, which can be considered as an advantage as it is nice and quiet. Although the rooms had a large balcony, they were really quite limited for space (I kept my suitcase outside). The cold attitude to service really ruined it for us, so unlike the boutique hotels I am used to.

Rating: 5/5** Yuly was so helpful with recommendation and making our Costa Rica experience epic. The Alma Hotel in Costa Rica offers a pleasant stay with its beautiful location and friendly staff. The Villa was well beyond our expectation . The rooms are comfortable and clean, providing great views of the natural surroundings. The private pool was breath taking and my kids loved it. The hotel's amenities, like the pool and restaurant, add to the enjoyable experience. It's a good choice for a relaxing vacation in Costa Rica. I highly recommend!!

We took a chance on this trip because we wanted to see a lot of Costa Rica and didn’t know where we would be from night to night. We got so lucky that they had an opening. This was such a lovely place to stay. We would definitely come back! The staff was very friendly. The accommodations were clean and beautiful. The restaurant was delicious and the views were breathtaking. I wish the mattress were a little less “firm” and yet even saying that this place will hold special memories for me and my husband.

A beautiful piece of paradise! Stunning views, comfortable bed, well appointed room. The staff were very friendly & helpful, and the owners John & Janet were fantastic! Seeing a sloth a breakfast and monkeys outside the suite was the icing on the cake.

We stayed for 4 nights and had a lovely time. The room was big with air con (which takes a while to get going) and views over the forest and ocean. There's a nice pool and sun loungers and the restaurant is excellent - we had dinner there several times and all the food was superb. Staff are also lovely and really helpful. The only issue for us was location as we didn't have a car and taxis were 25 to 30 dollars one way into Uvita (the nearby town). If you're not driving there might be better options, otherwise this is a great bet. Also Citrus is a great restaurant nearby for dinner!

Superior ocean view, very clean rooms and bathrooms. Heavenly comfortable beds, each room with a veranda you could spend the entire day resting on watching the scarlet macaws fly by, watch toucans roost or the monkeys. Fridge, hot water, coffee maker, sink, nice details. Beautiful pool, well kept grounds, did I mention the ocean view, add an incredible Pacific sunset. Want a satisfying meal with live music while enjoying the sunset? Come on a Friday or Monday at the adjacent family friendly Bamboo Room. A very special experience. Very friendly bi-lingual staff that will help with anything you need. Can’t say enough good things about this paradise in Ojochal. Very well worth the visit.

We can't thank John and his staff enough for a wonderful stay at Alma. We felt totally at home in the beautiful and scenic setting. The accommodations were clean and up to date. The food and service was excellent. My wife and I still talk about the enjoyable time we had there. Thank you again John and staff!

Perfect jewel on a small ridge overlooking the ocean on one side and the mountains on the other. The sunsets and sunrises are spectacular. The pool and breakfast area are lovely. We were always the only people in the pool and seldom saw other guests except at breakfast. It is like having your own resort! There are only five rooms so there’s always personal service. The outdoor space in the room had a fridge and sink. When we had a small rock puncture a tire, help was at the ready to help to change the tire. The only challenge is the 15-20 yard entry driveway, so bring your four wheel drive. After that it’s paradise.
