The Stables Townhouse B&B

Had a 2 night stay recently at the 'Stables'.Beautiful Georgian house.Rooms so lovely and the beds so comfortable.Staff just amazing-so courteous kind and efficient-nothing was too much trouble.Breakfast menu just amazing and as they serve lunches afternoon tea ets you could happily stay there all day!Could only highly recommend this as a place to stay at any time of year,and so near to everything also.A true gem of a place.Plus a fab shop if you can remove yourself from the tea rooms!!!!!

We stopped at the Stables for lunch travelling through Birr. Beautiful location. Friendly, super efficient staff. Great food. Fresh ingredients, very tasty food. Brilliant service. Food arrived very quickly and was incredibly flavourful. Would highly recommend!

Myself and my husband had brunch there last Saturday . Wow, the food and the staff were incredible. It was such an unexpected treat on our weekend away. We will definitely be back. The selection of cakes is a sweet lovers dream. And the shop with all of the beautiful products to buy , is such a beautiful addition.

The setting is lovely and the breakfast Oh my you need to build up courage as it takes some eating . The room was well equipped with a very comfortable bed. All requirements provided with extra fresh milk available . Staff were excellent and provided brill service A great place to stop

Usually find this a lovely spot but certainly not on this occasion. I went to get a coffee with my son in his buggy. However I was told there wasn't any room for a buggy. I was not offered a table if I took him out of the buggy, or a high chair, despite the fact there was a free table directly in front of me, or even offered a table outside! I said to the man 'we will just go somewhere else so' to which he replied 'OK no bother, bye now'. I understand not wanting to give two people a table for four, but to not even apologise or offer to get me a table in a few minutes? If I was in the company of a wheelchair user would the response have been the same, or was it because my son was viewed as a 'non-paying customer'? Anyway I left feeling extremely disappointed, and unwanted! I also sent the establishment a private message outlining my experience and didn't even get a reply which shows they do not care much about their customers.

What a shame. I can verify that the food is lovely here, and normally the service is just as good. But not on this occasion. Myself and my mother got there about 16.55. We were told that today they was closing at 17.00 instead of 17.30- no problem. We are only going to have a coffee anyway. Well we have very little left. Ok. I know when I’m not wanted! Like I said such a shame
