Glenview Guest House

I spent one night in Oban with my brother, and we booked the double room. The bathroom was not ensuite but down the hall, but was clean and using it was never an issue. We were greeted upon arrival by a lovely woman who made us feel very welcome, she also cooked us a lovely breakfast the next day before we left. Location is about a 10-15 minute walk from the downtown area but was not a problem at all. For the very fair price (85) compared to the other options in Oban (100+), I feel that I can definitely recommend this location.

My stay at Glenview Guesthouse was all together very pleasant. I found my room very friendly, bright and spacious with 2 windows letting in the sunshine with everything in perfect working order. The breakfast offered a considerable variety of things to choose from. The booking had been without any problems. Morven was extremely kind and helpful, but not intrusive in any way. She went above and beyond posting an item back to me which I had foolishly left behind. What more could you ask?

I come to Oban each year to ‘escape to the Highlands’. I always stay at Glen view as Morwan is so kind and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable, especially the bed and the breakfast is always hot and cooked to order. It’s only a ten minute walk to the ferry port and station, and five minutes to the car hire place so the location is ideal. I always book well in advance, especially for longer periods as I always prefer a single room en-suite. I would always stay at Glenview and hope to again next year. I always visit Mull, Iona and Glencoe so stay at Glenview as I can do everything from there.

Great place to end our motorcycle tour of Scotland, secure parking, rooms basic but beds really comfortable. Bathrooms are on suite but small. Lady running the place was very helpful and not phased at all by two bikers turning up after a long day on the road. Breakfast was good and kept us going home.

Pleasant, simple, and nicely appointed rooms. Bathrooms are small, but how much time does one need in the bathroom? Host was very pleasant and helpful. Beds are comfortable and room was quiet. A lounge and a dining b room is provided downstairs. Full breakfast, cooked to order. About a 15 minute walk to the port. Private parking provided.

Property itself was okay. A bit tired and old fashioned. Rooms basic but warm. Absolutely fine for the price and for a quick overnight stay before the ferry. Very nice breakfast. Overall no complaints but certainly didn’t bowl us over if we are honest.
