Getting Around Here are the different options for getting around during your stay: BY CAR: Downtown San Francisco is about 13 miles, or 20 minutes away with light traffic. The house is located near the I-580 and CA-13 freeways for easy access to the East Bay and greater Bay Area. You can also drive to Fruitvale Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station in about 7 minutes, park there ($2 or $5/day), and take a BART train. BY TRANSIT: Within 1-3 blocks from the house there are bus stops serving AC transit lines (14, 54, 57, 654, 655, 657, 680, 805) around Oakland and to BART stations as well as an express line to and from San Francisco (NX/NX2). Additional local and express bus lines (58L, NL, and NX3) stop within 5 blocks. The quickest route to downtown SF is to take the NX3 express bus non-stop (about 40 minutes) this is available in the early mornings and evenings. At other times you can take the NL bus direct to downtown SF. You can take either the 14 or 54 bus to Fruitvale Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station. BART runs about every 10-20 minutes. From Fruitvale BART, the train ride is 17 minutes to the first San Francisco stop (the entire trip will take 45-54 minutes). IMPORTANT NOTES: BART stops running at midnight, so plan accordingly to avoid missing the last train. If you plan to stay out late in San Francisco, taking a cab/Uber/Lyft is a good option that previous guests at our home have utilized.
