SIAMO ARRIVATI IN QUESTO ALBERGO E ALL’INIZIO SIAMO STATI INFASTIDITI DALLA LENTEZZA CON CUI CI HANNO APERTO E FATTO ACCOMODARE NELLA STANZA. SEMBRAVA DI ESSERE ENTRATI IN UN LUOGO INDIETRO NEL TEMPO. DOPO POCO SIAMO RIMASTI AFFASCINATI DALL’ELEGANTE RAFFINATEZZA DI QUESTO PICCOLO ALBERGO IMMERSO NELLA MERAVIGLIOSA NATURA CHE CIRCONDA LO YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, DOVE TUTTO SEMBRA ANDARE A RILENTO PER CONSENTIRE AGLI OSPITI DI LASCIARSI ALLE SPALLE LO STRESS E LA FRENESIA DEI NOSTRI TEMPI. QUINDI, NONOSTANTE QUALCHE INIZIALE INCOMPRENSIONE CON LA METRE DEL RISTORANTE (INVERO GENTILISSIMA), NON POSSO CHE DIRE CHE è STATO BELLISSIMO SOGGIORNARE IN QUESTO PICCOLO PARADISO TERRESTRE. BUONISSIMA LA COLAZIONE GUSTATA ALL’ESTERNO TRA IL SILENZIO DI UNA BELLISSIMA NATURA E IL CINGUETTIO DEGLI UCCELLI. CIò CHE COLPISCE PIU’ DI TUTTO è PERò LA RAFFINATEZZA DEI SERVIZI DI PIATTI, DELL’ARREDAMENTO E DELLE TOVAGLIE. PERFETTO, TUTTO PERFETTO NELLA SUA NATURALE MA ELEGANTE IMPERFEZIONE. GRAZIE!!!

The old Chateau du Sureau is showing her age. The staff is very kind and attentive. The chateau’s first impression is worn. Fountains not working and have ferns sitting in them or a dribble of water flow in another. Pool has a green tinge due to old plaster. Front steps are missing tiles. The rooms are clean with old world charm but show signs of wear. Stains on carpet and furniture. The shower/tub has a very awkward entrance. The breakfast was truly wonderful. Hope the new owners can restore it’s charm and elegance

Old world charm, but unfortunately some major flaws. We were there for a retreat, which was handled very well by the staff. Good meeting room and very nice breakfasts and lunches. Dining room was uncomfortably small for a full house. Our room was charming but tight. No real sitting area. The bed was comfortable, but the down duvet was too hot. The bathroom was atrocious. There was no effective lighting. The tub shower was quite awkward to get into, and it was difficult to safely reach the door to close it. Most disappointing however was the near total lack of hot water. Apparently the heater or storage tank is not up to servicing nine rooms we were told. That was unforgivable. A major plus is the proximity to The Elderberry house, one of the premiere restaurants in the Central California.

We went out of our way on our way back to SanFrancisco after staying in Yosemite for a few nights. The Inn was lovely. The owner designed and decorated it to feel like a chateau in France.. it was beyond our expectations. We also had dinner in the separate restaurant on the grounds. This restaurant was well beyond our expectations. We have eaten in many 5 star restaurants along the east coast. This one was by far the best we have been to. The service and food were outstanding!! Looking forward to coming back in the future!!
