Excellent place to stay, nice boutique hotel, welcoming staff, charming rooms and common spaces, all good. As soon as you cross the door entrance you feel at home. Possible also to have a walk in the tea plantations nearby and see sunset and sunrise, romantic views !

As a family with two teenagers we all loved this place perfect as a chilled out stop in between busy tourist destinations. It’s a beautiful retreat high up in the tea plantations and a lovely relaxing alternative to the bigger hotels. This friendly homely hotel is an original governors mansion restored and themed in the English country style along with white picket fences and wrap around rose gardens. The surrounding hills are a stunning backdrop with a heated infinity pool, there is a mapped walk around the area with view points. There’s even a spa, tennis and badminton court on site! The staff are super friendly and chatty and the chef even designed a menu for us as vegetarians The kids enjoyed it but I would say it’s especially romantic for couples with individually designed bedrooms with amazing views.

The hotel provides a unique and wonderful colonial experience. Set in a scenic and beautiful environment of rolling hills and tea plantations. The experience was truly exceptional and relaxing. Our arrival was met by the entire hotel staff led by the hotel GM. ( Mr Fauzi Mohideen) From the moment we arrived, the service and friendliness of the staff was exemplary. The food was excellent and the chef Mr Suranga was able to prepare dishes to our preference and requirements. We were waited on by Mr Prasana during our 2 night stay and he was courteous, polite and responsive to our requests. There was a heated swimming pool with excellent views of the countryside. Highly recommended and a wonderful experience.

The staff at this hotel couldn’t have looked after us any better and nothing was too much of an ask. Anoj, Shashila, Ravindu and Aloka did everything to make our stay a lovely experience, even organising us some off menu dinner. The hotel is a really nice homestay, and really feel at home. Would definitely visit again. The view from the pool over the hills is definitely not to be missed.

One of the best property with awesome food and the cooking brought out all the flavors. Staff was soft spoken and the rooms was very clean and comfortable. After long drive it was worth to be here and enjoy with nature . Quality time spent with family.

Everything about this boutique hotel was wonderful. We had a warm welcome and there was always someone to help us get whatever we needed. The pool was beautifully warm and we had an unforgettable afternoon swimming in the pouring monsoon rain. Everyone was prepared to go the extra mile, from Shashila on the reception desk to Selvi in the spa and the executive chef who made up our favourite coconut buns especially for us. General manager Fouzi Mohideen even arranged a private tea tasting at the Somerset Estate, which was lead by the regional manager and turned into a 2 hour 'master class' on tea growing, manufacture and distribution. The whole team from top to bottom deserve commendation and we will be back.

A lovely colonial boutique hotel set amongst the tea plantations. Beautiful gardens and a heated pool with spectacular views. Very welcoming, staff incredibly helpful and polite. Food excellent in the restaurant. Hospitality and service faultless. Would definitely come again!

From the minute we arrived we have felt welcome, at home and calm. This is a beautiful residence in the middle of tea plantations where the attention to detail in service is impeccable. The staff are attentive and quite lovely, every one. Our room is spacious, double aspect, with stunning views over the plantations. Bathroom large and well stocked with all amenities. My only issue is we were not here long enough to sample the other amenities, tennis, mini golf, spa, pool……. Absolutely we will be back. I very much look forward to returning. Thank you all

Absolutely beautiful location with stunning views across the tea plantation. Nice pool. Everything about this hotel should idyllic. However, food service was slow and on one occasion I was served stone cold food after waiting 45 minutes. They ask what your breakfast order is while still eating dinner!
