The house and accommodations were gorgeous, impeccably clean. Stylish and luxuriously comfortable bed! Ms. Alva was extremely hospitable and rightly proud of the home's and her family's rich history. As for the breakfasts ... scrumptious!

I am so thankful to the historical society for suggesting we stay at Ma Margaret's House. It is a quiet oasis and the owner, Ms. Alva Jackson, exudes such warmth. The breakfast was delicious, hearty and well balanced! We had a lovely stay and suggest that others stop by, too.

Ma Margaret's House Bed was comfortable and daily Breakfast delicious. Mrs. Alva's hospitality and her ability to accommodate my dietary requirements (No meat) was much appreciated! The most relaxing sleep in Jr. Suite and the soaking tub was just what i needed this New Year's Roadtrippin Getaway and worth the 3 1/2 hour drive from Carolina.

My wife and I stayed here on our anniversary and it was delightful. The B&B is warm and welcoming, and the room itself (Lewis room) was clean, comfy, spacious, and nicely appointed. Plus, they provided a beautiful flower arrangement on short notice. Alva is a friendly and gracious host and can recommend interesting places to see (e.g., Tangier Island). She prepared a solid and tasty breakfast of eggs, bacon, fruit, and homemade blackberry tart. She also had options for those with dietary restrictions. We look forward to staying there again.

Everything was great. From the first entry into her home and the nice cool AC to the warm exquisite hospitality and breakfast upon leaving on Sunday morning. Fortunately, we have been able to renovate our home at home, but when we have extended family I certainly do look forward to visiting again!

I traversed many regions of MD, DC and Va for over a week. I must say that unequivocally, Ma Margaret's House B&B in Reedville was the most enjoyable stay by far. Not only is proprietor Alva a fount of history and a welcoming host, but the guests also were happy to share information about the area, things to explore and more. The friendliness was off the charts, and the beauty and comfort of the place was astonishing

The house is beautiful and well kept, the breakfasts are delicious, the location is close to multiple nature areas, boat launches, and historic towns, and the host is thoughtful, friendly, intelligent, and knowledgeable of the area's history. I went to visit family and have a work vacation, and Ma Margaret's was a perfect base camp, place to work and place to start each day. This is the best place to stay in the Northern Neck!

A lovely, restored house in Reedville. The room was comfortable, neat and clean. Though we only stayed one night, after our Starlight Cruise, we found our stay excellent. Breakfast was fabulous and the chef and owner were there to take care of our every need. Would recommend any time you need to get away from the daily grind and visit a peaceful country inn.

Beautifully restored home w chef’s kitchen and clean rooms w great beds. Owner Alva is eager to share the interesting story of her family history and ties. Lovingly restored to include special items from the original home. No musty smell. Each room has its own thermostat and kept us nice and cool on a very hot day.
