Holiday Inn Express Fargo-West Acres

I have stayed here a few times for work by choice and I have no complaints. The property is always clean, my room is always comfortable and the hot breakfast is always good. I also want to say that the staff is always friendly and helpful. Another reason I choose to stay here is because there are a few bars and restaurants within a block or so. There's a bar in both the Holiday Inn and Fargo Inn which are both across the parking lot. The pool and hot tub were out of order but the guests and this Holiday Inn Express are allowed to walk over to the Holiday Inn to use their pool. I also got a free drink and snack ticket to use at the Holiday Inn bar from the hotel clerk which is a nice perk.

I embarked on a Last Four Tour last week. I wanted to see the last four US states I had not yet visited before I turned 60. 50 before 60 as I called it. Both Dakotas, Alaska and Hawaii were on my list. Mary, Jerica, Taylor and Deena at the front desk of this hotel were all so kind. Mary and Jerica actually shared their own stash of camomile and hibiscus tea! I was very exhausted as I traveled a lot by plane using cheap tickets to get here. Indeed, I barely slept in nearly a day by the time I arrived. They allowed me to check in early and pointed the way to the most amazing place for a light meal: the bar at the Holiday Inn in the parking lot across from them. There, Paul, the bartender, offered me the best homemade mushroom soup I ever had. I will always be grateful to this hotel for helping me start my Last Four Tour off with a gentle bang. It was a nice clean room. No frills but all I needed to sleep well -- with a wrestling tournament happening in town. Wrestlers everywhere! But I heard no noise while in my room. Thank you.

Stayed for 4 night during Christmas just for a place to sleep (we were gone during the day). We stayed the first couple nights in the first room next to the lobby area on the first floor. It was loud and room was tiny. We didn’t get much sleep the first 3 nights. We shared our concern with the front desk clerk and she basically didn’t seem to care and said the hotel was full all week. We attempted to give it another shot our last night there and another front desk clerk (older lady) was very understanding and was able to move us to another room. The last night was quiet and we were able to finally get a good nights sleep thank you to her! I felt like we should originally just have been given a quieter room on the top floor since we’re were staying there for several night. The pulled out mattress was covered in stains which was nasty. Also The lobby/lounge area was overtaken over almost every night by a large group/family..which I’m sure it was because of the holidays and ice storm. It would have been nice to have a place to hangout at night beside our room but there just wasn’t enough space. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Great location, quick checkin and friendly staff, room was spacious and clean. The hotel was pretty up to date. Just a couple of small complaints, the pillows and mattresd could have been a bit more comfortable and the forgot to refill our kcups the second day. I was able to catch the cleaning staff as they were still on our floor and she was apologetic.

Poor management, ownership group should dispose of. Manager has forgotten that 10 dimes is better than 2 quarters. Gets greedy with dynamic pricing so our company now avoids midweek, stick to Hilton and Choice properties. Listened to front desk question corp rates, should be grateful for any dollars they get in Fargo market. Tired hotel, QA should be hitting them on elevator floor and over chlorinated pool conditions and pool wall conditions.

My spouse and I were beginning our summer vacation in August 2023 and chose to spend our first night (a Friday night) at this particular Holiday Inn Express in the Fargo area. We arrived early in the afternoon (before the official check-in time) just to see if our room was ready, and sure enough... it was! Our check-in process went smoothly. Our room (#322) was clean and comfortable... no problems there. We appreciated the amenities at this hotel... the business center computer, the indoor pool with a very nice hot tub, and a good breakfast in the morning. This property is a bit older but it's been renovated quite nicely. We really enjoyed our stay!

Pros -bed was super comfy -room was cleaned well -breakfast had many options -location convenient Cons -most staff were not friendly, I found many guests who were. -room smelled very strong of sprays and cleaners. In a non-smoking hotel, how does this make sense to hotel? We trade one bad thing for another? I have asthma and found it a bit much. I was glad to see I could open the window, and leave. -the pool and whirlpool. Are both small for the size of the hotel. The room seems to have no ventilation. My body physically gasped when I entered from the stagnant high humidity. I seen vents taken off. No air moving. The pool was cold it seemed Unheated. Then I entered the hot tub which was hot. I sat in silence. And noticed the walls at eyesight. Blackened. Mold? Moving up the walls, deep in each stagnant corner, behind furniture. When I got out of the hot tub my skin was itchy. I have a sore throat today. Is it the room spray/cleaning products. The time in the chlorinated water, in the Mold filled pool room, or COVID. Day 2 sore throat is a bit better. Possibly the terrible unhealthy air. Still have some leftover itch.

I stayed one night at the Holiday Inn Express, which has a good location off the highway, across from the shopping mall and by a bunch of big-box stores. Public spaces and rooms looked renovated in the last couple of years. However, my room, a handicap accessible king room on the second floor, was not clean. There was hair on the toilet, hair around the toilet on the bathroom floor, hair in other parts of the bathroom by the shower, and mold or mildew around the titles of the walk-in shower. That's unacceptable. Ignoring the lack of cleanliness, the individual bottles of toiletries that used to be provided have been replaced by a wall-mounted dispenser with lotion and liquid handwash. The dispenser was broken in my room. No bar of soap is provided. As usual, breakfast was free for all guests. The selection was an average selection of mostly standard Holiday Inn Express breakfast fayre. I didn't see any oatmeal or fresh fruit and berries. The hot offerings were mostly empty by 7:30 a.m. and didn't see replenished. The seating area for breakfast is also small and cramped. No newspapers were provided in the lobby. While staff were friendly, they weren't particularly well-trained. At check-out, I was never thanked for staying or asked how my stay went. I asked for my folio to be emailed. It was never emailed. All things considered, I would not stay here again. For almost $200 with taxes, I expect a clean room.

Came here for a night on my own. Dakota at the front desk was exceptional. I saw a bus in the lot as I pulled in. I thought oh great no sleep for me. So I asked him if it was a hockey weekend and he said yeah there’s two teams staying here. I thought oh great . I asked him if I could be away from the kids so I can sleep . So he moved my room to the third floor where there were only a couple hockey rooms there. I slept decent. Thank you Dakota! You deserve a promotion!! Very nice man. Even helped me in my room after my keys wouldn’t work. I definitely will stay here again.
