La Chapelle Saint Martin

We stayed at this hotel in 2023 and as we were travelling for a couple of months we decided to stay here again so that we could have a relaxing time for a few days. The hotel is in lovely grounds so there is plenty of space to move around. We ate in the bistro and enjoyed the food. As before the staff are very thoughtful and attended to our requirements always with a smile. Thank you Aude & Giles

What an amazing place - a stunning hotel in beautiful, immaculately kept grounds. The staff were attentive and friendly..and my room was just wonderful - well appointed with everything you could need and the bed extremely comfortable! Highly recommended!

My wife and I recently spent a night at La Chapelle Saint Martin. It was a superb experience which started from check-in. Before showing us the room the front desk employee took us with him to tour the property which was a nice attention. Our room (number 5) was on the second floor looking over the entrance and the access road. This is clearly not the best location. I definitely recommend selecting a room on park side. The room was comfortable and well appointed (flat screen TV, coffee machine, safe, ...). Some amenities such as mineral water, pastries and fruits were also provided. However, even by French/European standards the room was not very spacious. The bathroom was also relatively small but equipped by top-notch faucets and toiletries. Special mention however to the room air conditioning system that was both efficient and very silent. We had dinner on the terrace facing the vast park and the surrounding countryside. This is really a peaceful and relaxing setting. Service was friendly, professional and efficient. Although the "amuse-bouche" was relatively unremarkable the following dishes were clearly up to the one-star Michelin ranking. The langoustine starter we shared was tasty and well executed. So were the main courses, the Limousin veal for me - one of the restaurant's signature dishes - and the sea bass for my wife. Dessert, a combination of raspberries and blueberries with a very thin pastry, was light and simply delicious. I also enjoyed breakfast which offers a great variety of options and largely relies on home-made products (the brioche was outstanding). We already had dinner at La Chapelle Saint Martin two years ago and were keen to renew the experience. We were not disappointed and highly recommend the place for a stay in the Limoges area.

Our poor experience may not be due to the hotel but it’s important that other travellers are aware to make sure they read the fine print. Our travel company specifically told us that we had booked a room with air conditioning and it was confirmed in our booking details. This was important to us since we were travelling in mid July for our honeymoon. Unfortunately the room was unbearably hot. We could not sleep for 2 nights. If we opened the window it was very light and noisy from the street cars and people looked straight into our room from the entrance path to the hotel so we had to shut it. On a 2nd floor room in 40 degree heat it was very hot. The fridge in our room couldn’t work due to the heat either. I do want to be clear though that the manager and staff were lovely and very kind. There was nothing they could do since it was fully booked and they were very upset that our travel agent did not make it clear that we had booked without air con. If you are travelling in summer please make sure you book with air con and understand that the only way to know if you have air con is to contact the hotel directly. There is no price difference with or without it. It’s a beautiful place and we wish we had a better experience.

Nous sommes malheureusement arrivé dans cet établissement sous une pluie battante et repartie sous le même temps, ce qui ne nous a pas permis de profiter du beau jardin. l'endroit est calme et reposant et le personnel très à votre écoute pour vous rendre votre séjour agréable.

Saveurs et caractère particulier du Limousin preserver et bonifier dans cet écrin qu’est la chapelle saint Martin.

Il est un lieu qui mérite que l'on s'y arrête, que l'on s'y repose, que l'on s'y laisse envoûter. Cet endroit enchanteur porte un nom qui résonne comme une promesse : La Chapelle Saint Martin. Là-bas, le voyageur fatigué trouve bien plus qu’un simple refuge ; il découvre une véritable œuvre d’art vivante, un havre de paix où l'âme s’élève, bercée par la nature et les siècles. La bâtisse, majestueuse et pleine de grâce, semble avoir été sculptée par le temps lui-même. Les pierres de ses murs racontent des histoires anciennes, où chaque recoin invite à la contemplation et à la sérénité. Les chambres, elles, sont des cocons de douceur, des écrins où chaque détail a été pensé pour vous faire sentir chez vous tout en vous transportant ailleurs. Et que dire de **"Le Jardin Extraordinaire"**, ce restaurant qui porte si bien son nom ! Ô, quel festin pour les sens ! Les plats y sont une poésie servie sur assiette, où les saveurs locales s’entrelacent avec délicatesse pour créer une symphonie culinaire. Chaque bouchée est une révélation, chaque assiette un hommage à la nature et à l’art du goût. Ce lieu ne serait pas ce qu’il est sans la bienveillance et l’attention de ceux qui le font vivre. Le personnel, d'une douceur infinie, vous accueille avec un sourire qui réchauffe le cœur. Chacun ici semble animé d'une même mission : faire de votre séjour une parenthèse enchantée, un moment d’éternité où l’on oublie tout le reste. Si jamais vos pas vous mènent à la Chapelle Saint Martin, vous comprendrez alors que certains lieux sont faits pour élever l'âme et le cœur, et celui-ci en fait partie.
