We have to stayed in many Center Parcs across Europe and I must say I was expecting more from Trois Forests. Positives - exclusive cottages were clean and spacious - staff at reception were nice Negatives - too many electric buggies that are being driving quickly and often with kids at the wheel. - Aqua Mundo was closed on our first day, no offer of compensation as of yet. - The rapids were closed and we were only offered 100 euros of vouchers and were told only a few months before. - Aqua Mundo was way too busy to be enjoyable- people should have to book a slot . - we booked the high ropes activity and the staff were completely unprofessional ( chatting and distracted whilst putting on the harnesses and one of them shouted at my child in an arrogant way- they were not monitoring the activity well at all) .

The park was great . The pizza place was not great. I ordered the special pizza there advertise it on the table. Don't order it. The pizza is terrible 😔

For info we are a family of 4 children aged 10 & 15. We stayed for 10 days from the 11th to 21st August. General - the park is in the middle of no where. To explore anywhere be prepared to drive. Cons - Villas are not air conditioned which I understand but in the heat we experienced a fan or fans in the villa would of been nice. Grassed area at the villa is "wild" would be nice if some grass not just weeds Golf buggies are allowed on narrow paths and travel very fast. They are also very expensive. Pros Villa is impeccably clean, however issues with a dodgy kettle sorted . Pool large and fun. Farm a lovely addition. Restaurants on site nice but busy. Shop on site well stocked but expensive as you would expect with a captive audience. All in All a great holiday but feel after 10 days we have experienced everything this CP offers. But in regards to value for money we would never go back to a UK site again.

Really relaxing family holiday in the forest. We are a family of three and travelled to Sarrebourg (closest train station) with Interrail tickets for the May half term. With travel and accommodation in a VIP Renewed Cottage for 7 nights, this still worked out nearly £1000 cheaper than staying in the UK’s Elveden Forest, not far from us. If you’re coming by train, I highly recommend booking transfers with the local Taxi Phoenix Sarrebourg who regularly pick up / drop off at Center Parcs and speak English. It should cost between €40-50 to get to the closest train station from Les Trois Forêts. Our accommodation was clean enough and looked as detailed in the photos. The sofa was very small and beds / pillows were very uncomfortable. I’d recommend bringing your own pillows if you’re travelling by car! The lodges were very private. If we were to go back I’d opt for staying in an Exclusive cottage as I think these come with air conditioning and some other luxuries. The welcome packs leave a lot to be desired - just some basics for washing up! We arrived quite late - about 8pm and the cycle / buggy centre was closed, which meant a LONG walk to our lodge from where our Uber driver dropped us off. The Taxi Phoenix company pick up and drop you off at your lodge, so worth booking in advance. The next day we swapped our bike reservations for a golf buggy and zipping around the park by buggy was really fun - although it’s expensive I’d highly recommend it. We had pre-booked activities for every day apart from Wednesday, when we did a day trip to Colmar by train. The activities were good - the archery and bowling were our favourites. We’ve done Go Ape lots of times back home so booked the high rope course - both the blue and red trails. We didn’t end up doing the red trail in the end as we were exhausted from the blue course, which is pretty intense. Lots of kids were on it and crying / struggling and I must admit at certain points I was a bit scared! Not due to the safety, just the difficulty of each obstacle. I imagine it would be quite tough for those who haven’t done that before. We also did Family Lazer Battle in Ze Place, which has a cool arcade area our 9 year old loved. The farm is cute too. We ate in the crêperie and Le Marché- both were fine but expensive for what they were. Mostly we cooked / ate in the cottage. Fresh baguettes every day from the supermarket were a plus! Aqua Mondo was great - water was lovely and warm. It did get very busy but still enjoyable. I went to the spa alone as despite it being advertised as having certain time slots available for families, I couldn’t find out how to book that. The spa was very nice and like the ones in the UK. Access to the spa alone is through Aqua Mondo though, which was a bit confusing! The real beauty of our break was in exploring the forest and having time to relax together. I speak a little French and it was great to get the opportunity to practice, although most staff members speak E

Our family from the UK came to join us here for a 5 day stay and even though the weather was not the best we had a good time! Good points 1. Exclusive Cottage 2049 was just fantastic, super clean, modern, had most things we needed. The Sauna was so nice to have both for the view and to dry our swimming stuff ;) 2. The parc is well maintained and the outdoor spaces a great way to pass some time. 3. The kids loved Aqua Mundo and it was well maintained. Things to improve 1. Activities - Ze place was mostly closed in the mornings even though it was pouring rain, Ze place was also nowhere near as good quality as the sports centers of the UK Center Parcs. The outdoor activities lasted much less time than in the UK and were of inferior quality e.g. archery was in a tiny pen whereas at Whinfell for example its a whole forest parcour with pretend animals to shoot at, paintball is in a tiny area with balls that only travel a couple of metres so noone hit anything, no quad biking or interesting things for older kids, the lazer game in particular was poor - in complete daylight and kids were bored after 5 minutes and noone gave the scores at the end, bowling you will never ever get to finish a game if you're 6 people. 2. 3 of us picked up severe diarrhea - our doctor believes it is likely to be the pool as we did not eat the same foods. 3. Limited food options for gluten free meaning my niece and her family never ate dinner with us at the restaurants. Tips If you're not near the centre, genuinely dont bother with bikes if you have young kids. Opt for the buggies!

I hope this review will be helpful for British families thinking about staying here. We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children (8, 8, and 11) and we have been to other French centre parcs often so knew what to expect. We booked last minute for May half term and paid 50% of the full price. We booked a 4 bed renovated VIP cottage and it worked out around £650 for 4 nights. The French don’t have the same half term as in England so fellow guests are predominantly those without children or those with children of preschool age. The indoor swim centre is great with flumes, wave pool, rapids etc and the indoor playground (la Ferme) also a hit with our kids. These areas are obviously included in the price of your accommodation and you could easily pass the time doing those things, the outdoor play areas, walks etc without booking any paid activities. The French centreparcs app will not download on a UK Apple AppStore so we booked our activities through the website. We wee in the 200s and it was an easy 10 minute walk to the centre but the site is VAST. So if you are thinking of staying much further out then bring or rent bikes or a golf cart. There is also a free little bus you can jump on and off. The ‘go ape’ and ‘clip n climb’ activities were not at the same safety standards that we have in England. Not all of the paid activities and restaurants are available all day every day but this is to expected in low season. Drinks are expensive but probably no worse than anywhere else in England where there is a captive audience. The only thing that could have improved our holiday would have been the evening restaurants. The first evening we went the Grill, the food was brought out within a couple of minutes of ordering and was adequate but nothing special. The second night only the Italian was open and they only had pizza available on their menu that night. The food was average (think pizza express standard) and cost £80 for three kids menus, 2 adult pizzas and a bottle of wine. On the third night the buffet was open and this cost e90 for 3 kids and 2 adults but food and drink was unlimited. The quality of the salads and desserts were very good, probably not so good for someone who only eats ‘meat and two veg’ type meals. Overall we have had a great holiday and would return to this site again which is comparable with Les Bois aux Daims.

We generally loved our stay at the Center Parc due to how much fun the kids had. We rented a refurbished lodge for 4 persons which was 5 min away by bike from Aqua Mundo and very close to the little farm. The kids loved every minute of our stay in the parc. We found that there were a number of attractions already included in the base price that the kids could take advantage of: the swimming pools and water slides at Acqua mundo, the outside and the inside playgrounds and animal visits at the little farm. I suspect that the beach volley and football pitch were also free of charge, but we did not use those. I would note as well that the parc and cottage are pet friendly (NB! pet friendly does not mean that you can take your pet with you to the restaurant or swimming pool etc.). There are also a supermarket and a bakery on site, which are small but rather decently equipped. We found the members of staff very polite and helpful, despite the constant stress they must be under throughout the day. We had to give up two of the pre-booked activities, but the staff was very kind and helped us book a different activity in one of the cases and returned our money in the second case. Price wise the stay was rather on the steep side. With the same amount of money one could book an entire holiday week somewhere in southern Spain in a nice hotel next to the beach ( as an example). The fact that most activities on site require payment (sometimes a small amount sometimes a bigger amount) could also be seen as a deterrent. I think what we enjoyed the least was the quality of food in the restaurants. We tried a few and the food was every single time a disappointment. However, we had very low expectations regarding that and we were prepared enough to cook for ourselves in the cottage. At the end of the day we returned home with a big smile in our hearts, albeit with significantly emptier pockets! It’s just a matter of perspective I guess. I see people here complain about ticks in the grass and not being able to take their dogs to restaurants. While I can understand that this may be a nuisance for some I can hardly blame the park for it. Nevertheless, rethinking the restaurants menu and working towards providing more activities in the all-in price are small steps that the parks could take to remain competitive. Otherwise, who knows, next time southern Spain may win :)…
