*** PET FRIENDLY *** Mc Courts cottage is set in the Beautiful Countryside of Hilltown (Gateway to the Mourne Mountains) It was originally built over 200 years ago and tastefully refurbished for modern day living. Enjoy the tranquillity and amazing views from this beautiful cottage. This place is the perfect spot for getting away from the cares of the world. *** Relax and unwind in the large 5 seater hot tub and take in the amazing views or cosy up in-front of the stove. There is a self contained Barn/tiny house next door which is also available for bookings. Drive down a long private stoned lane way to find this hidden gem and relax in the spacious surroundings and tranquillity. Recently refurbished and in keeping with its traditional Irish charm, it also has a mix of modern touches bringing both new & old together. Bedroom one is open plan above the living area with a king size bed, bedroom two has one king size bed and bedroom three has two singles. Ground floor is the Living room featuring a large stone fireplace with wood burning stove, kitchen complete with a new range cooker, utility room with space for extra storage and good sized bathroom with bath & shower. Mc Courts Cottage is approximately 2 miles away from the centre of Hilltown village, yet you feel like your miles away from anywhere! Overlooking Newry city from afar and the magnificent rolling hills of the Mourne countryside. This place is perfect for those who are keen Walkers, Cyclists, Mountain bikers, budding photographers and those who wish to get away from it all. Western Style horse back riding is available right here in Hilltown @ Laneway Lodge. Newry is but a 20min drive away, as is Castlewellan. The beautiful seaside town of Newcastle is a 30min drive away. Warrenpoint & Rostrevor are approx 15mins drive, so we are very central location to the surrounding towns/attractions. Paragliders love to use this location throughout the year, so if you are lucky enough you can watch them from the front garden, it really is a fantastic sight. We welcome children though please note the cottage has not been child proofed and it is parents responsibility to make sure their little ones are as safe as possible both inside and out.
