Hotel con piscina a Newport News

Abbiamo viaggiato in tutta gli Stati Uniti per ＞60 giorni. Il nostro marchio di scelta hotel è un Marriott. Purtroppo questo non era al livello che abbiamo aspettato. Quando sono entrato nella nostra stanza ho individuato che la telecamera non funzionava. Era l'unica serata che volevamo guardare un film prima del letto (tempo limitato per il viaggio il giorno successivo), e ho chiamato immediatamente per chiedere a qualcuno di venire in camera. Più di 30 minuti dopo (e un altro richiamo) un gentiluomo è arrivato e ha confermato le batterie necessarie per cambiarle, e poi le ha cambiate. Tutte le aspettative (circa 45 minuti in totale) ci hanno perso l'opportunità di ordinare da qualsiasi luogo la cena. Non molto, ma il parcheggio era facile e il servizio al ristorante per colazione la mattina seguente era eccellente.

The hotel appeared to be very nice according to reviews and pictures online. I saw that it had been renovated but upon arrival, family members told me that it was once the “happening spot” for many celebrities and others that came in town before Holiday Inn took ownership. The decor was nice and clean upon entering the lobby and the front desk and staff were great! The hallway to our room on the main floor had a bad stintch/smell and the doors to the rooms showed the age of the hotel. When we entered the room the floor was very sticky and had to be cleaned which was cared for right away. There appeared to be tons of construction crew staying there as well and many of their big vehicles took up lots of the parking. Other than that it was good but if they can address the age of the doors and fix the smell it would be great! Again the staff was amazing and the Burger Theory staff was great too!

The only reason I am giving a 2 is because the lady at the front desk was AMAZING. She was more than I could have asked for at a budget friendly place. She went above and beyond for us and tried to make the best of an awful situation. She honestly deserves a raise, or at the very least an opportunity to work at a location that isn't so run down. It is obvious she cares very much so for the facility and I am unsure why it is so run down. Hopefully she is given a better budget and better resources to properly run this location. I forget her name because it was so unique, but she is someone this company should not let go of. She is definitely a keeper!!!. The rooms are ok for what you pay for, but my daughter opened the door to the adult sleeping area and the handle on her side fell off. The elevator had a not so great smell that an attempt was made to cover up. The bathroom and the pool area were not very clean either. Clearly a hot tub used to be there that is no longer there. The patio chairs are not something we were willing to sit on. There was a couple having a domestic in the room next to us and our whole floor smelled like ****. I understand that it has been decriminalized, but there is a very clear no smoking policy and it's not very family friendly to have that smell lingering everywhere you go. We switched hotels within 3 hours.

Questo hotel era decente. La dimensione della stanza era buona, e la TV era grande. Ci sono alcuni posti per mangiare entro un passo 5-10. Ho lasciato la mia stanza alle 3:15 il venerdì pomeriggio per andare ad un evento, ma il personale dell'hotel non mi ha pulito la stanza. In generale, era buono, ma per 160 dollari a notte, probabilmente la prossima volta cercherò altre opzioni.

We grabbed a room here on our way to the beach thinking I could grab something closer the next day. I actually ended up booking the room for 2 more nights due to how nice the accommodations were. We were placed in a room and found there to be an a/c leak and they immediately put us in another room no questions asked. The next morning we grabbed a great little breakfast in the lobby and went about our day. All 3 mornings we ate breakfast at the hotel and to be honest it was better than we got at a few local restaurants. Nothing fancy but it was really good to be able to grab a bite before going out to explore the beach and local attractions. The room was very clean. We used the pullout couch for one of my kids and they provided me with linens and even brought me a brand new blanket for her. I think the only things that were not perfect but definitely not a huge issue was the water spout in the bathtub was a little loose and the mattresses are a little on the thin side. I have a good bit of back trouble and struggled a bit but otherwise the rooms were fantastic. I would highly recommend especially for families the room was huge and it was so nice to have everyone in their own bed. We could have fit 6 people in the beds we had in this room. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

I would stay here again though this stay wasn't the greatest. I would not expect the same issues next time, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel was under renovation so we had to enter through the back door. Made loading luggage in a little tricky, but a staff member happened to be by the door and offered to assist. At 3:30 a.m. the fire alarm went off. A staff member said it was not an emergency, that someone was smoking in their room. Thought that was strange as the guests two doors down from me said their detector had been flashing intermittently throughout the night. Ours never flashed at all, not even when the alarm outside our room was going off. The fire department came to my (adult) son's room to check that detector saying it was his that set it off. My son doesn't smoke, which apparently was easy enough for them to figure out with no smell of smoke or evidence of smoking in the room. An hour or so later the clock alarm went off. We hadn't set it. I turned it off but some time later it went off again. I unplug it from the wall. It went off again. I finally buried it under a bunch of pillows. It finally stopped. The next morning I overheard a maintenance person telling a staff member something along the lines of minimal things they could do as the fire alarm system was old and perhaps, given a big storm rolled through during the night, some water had gotten to the wires and set it off. So we didn't get a good night's sleep, but the staff were pleasant and the room was clean. In particular, the lady manning the breakfast and coffee station, Helen, was a doll. She asked everyone how their evening was, helped anyone who needed it, immediately cleaned off tables when people left, always wore a smile, and was just ever so delightful. My mother said the grits were the best she'd had in a long while. She told Helen it was obvious she knows how to cook grits. Helen smiled, thanked her and said she's been making grits for a long time. Thanks Helen, for being you! Five stars for Helen!

We accidently chose this hotel on a dreary night when our family was highly irritable during our travels. Could we make it back to Alexandria, Virginia from the Buckroe Beach/Virginia Beach visit nonstop? The family debate was a resounding NO! Pull over! Pull over! This was the vote! Yet, I longed for the comforts of home. I wanted to get home so I could rest, have breakfast in the morning and enjoy a hot cup of coffee while I worked on my laptop for an hour answering emails. Being out voted, we pulled into the Comfort Suites at Newport News Airport. I've stayed at Choice Hotels - Comfort Suites before. And TripAdvisor has always been a great resource to help us find the best places to stay, and the best deals hands down. But this wasn't just any Comfort Suites Hotel. From the moment we were directed there from TripAdvisor and checked in, we noticed the friendliest atmosphere, the warmth, and professionalism from the staff. Mrs Amy, the front desk person made us feel like we were staying with a family member, and not actually at a hotel. It was a very pleasant overnight stay, with us booking two rooms that night. The story doesn't end there. Because we felt so much sincerity about us genuinely enjoying our stay, when the time came for us to return to the area, we AGAIN chose this same Comfort Suites Newport News Airport hotel. Every staff member, from our first and continuing contact with Mrs. Amy (we learned later was a Manager), to Jay, Johnny and all the other staff has made us feel welcomed. You might think it unusual for someone to write a review recommending your family to try out a hotel. If do, then PAUSE, and ask yourself this. When was the last time you felt appreciated, or someone was happy to see you? When was the last time someone provided you service with a genuine smile? If you can appreciate these things, then you will understand why we return to this hotel when visiting the area. The answer is simple. Were not staying at a hotel. It's feels like we're staying with family.

Despite the outside appearance, the inside of this Hampton Inn is showing its age. The place felt musty and some of the furniture was quite worn. Some visible roof repairs (poorly done) and peeling wallpaper. I had two rooms and one had no shower gel, the other no shampoo - this facet of the ”save the planet” is getting old quickly when housekeeping doesn't replenish the bottles on the walls. Several door handles (exterior and room) were tough to get to operate properly. The staff, however, was very good. The front desk and breakfast staff were particularly welcoming and happy to help with some of the issues like the soap.
