Travelodge Newark-on-Trent

As a result of a particular member of staff with his attitude and general demeanour I will not be staying at Trave Lodge again

Easy to book and check in. Rooms clean. Location of Travelodge was perfect for my trip. Had an issue with the wi fi otherwise perfect. Booked an accessible room, ideal for my circumstances. Newark is a great place to visit and so accessible.

My stay was fantastic. This hotel gets all the important things right. Comfort: The room was very comfortable and quiet, with a great bed. I slept very well. Value: For the price paid, the quality of the hotel is exceptional. It's clean, modern, and has everything you need. Location: Perfectly situated. It was incredibly easy to walk to the town's main attractions and find a good place for dinner. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Newark.

The curtains are very thin and ill fitting and let daylight in from early - not great after a flight and jet lagged or one simply wants a lie in ?? No water cooler anywhere in the ' hotel'. Is no access to drinking water even legal ? Had to keep buying bottled water . Had unfortunately dropped food on bedroom floor, politely requested cleaner to hoover it and was told they only clean once someone has vacated the room ; bizarre and unhelpful response tbh? Not able to leave luggage once checked out to explore vicinity due to " security" . I have never been told this before at any hotel - again awful customer care and very unhelpful . The receptionist unhelpfully had no suggestions as to where I might leave a bag in Newark either .

Excellent service from staff, Dave was a particularly good & efficient host, my early check in amendment was well handled from phoning it in to being received at reception. An issue with my room's TV was swiftly resolved.
