Madame Isabelle's is just fantastic. The facilities are very good. Very clean and very quirky. The Staff and volunenters are mega efficient and friendly. Location great for Frenchman street, French Quarter etc. The local neighbour is supurb. Local Coffee shops and bars are near by. The transport links are good. And you are only an 8 minute walk to the wonderful chaotic french Quarter.

Amazing hostel with wonderful staff and fellow travellers. Great location, just outside the french quarter - I actually preferred being outside the french quarter, but you're still so close to all the attractions that it offers, plus you're closer to Frenchman street which has fantastic live music at night. The hostel was clean, well-equipped, with good amenities and great hangout spaces. Rooms were big enough that they didn't feel cramped. Each bed has a curtain and they provide you with a towel. They have social events a couple nights a week - while I typically try to stay in hostels that have social events going on every night, this hostel isn't really big enough for that to be feasible (I guess that's part of the hostel culture in north america, or should I say, lack thereof). The people are always what make or break a hostel stay - and the people here were so so wonderful! Plus all the resident hostel cats? Incredible. I would definitely book Madame Isabelle's again when I'm back in New Orleans.

Very laid back, friendly, well organized hostel. I had a private ensuite room which was spacious and comfortable. Cats were a bonus.

Good if you set proper expectations
Thin walls, stained sheets, some purposely wonky construction techniques, HVAC controls a mystery, and did not receive our late arrival entrance code via email, so had to wait for an employee to come out to help us enter. All that said, it was an interesting communal experience. Definitely not luxurious, but for a younger person could be a lot of fun. Great location, street parking easily accessible.

Reviews I cannot say enough good things about this hostel. I researched all six in closest proximity to the FQ and this one far surpassed all others. The staff is incredible - so genuine, professional and fun! They truly were a big part of making my time in Nola so wonderful. Clean, timely, great communication, lovely home environment, free breakfast, community/hostel group events, laundry, lots of amenities, convenient, quick walk to FQ, as a solo female traveler I felt safe (using common sense like any larger city) etc. etc. Stay here! You will be thrilled that you did!

Very unique hostel property. Near enough the French Quarter and VERY near Frenchman Lane to be convenient for walking. Staff and management are fantastic. Room clean and neat but no in suite bathroom- shared. Bunkroom next door was noisy until ~ 1AM but it was new years, so OK.
Area around property is borderline sketchy so watch yourself and car.

I stayed at this hostel for 2 weeks and will never forget my stay there ✨ I met amazing people that I laughed so much with, and I also had great times chilling by myself in the peaceful garden. This place has everything you can be searching for in a hostel : a hot tub, friendly people, a guitar you can use any time you want, a tv room, delicious frequent local dishes (Jambalaya, Gumbo, corn bread...), copious breakfasts and artistic sweat treats made by either Kyle, Sophia, Marissa, Kristian, Connor, Carly and Sean... ♥️ Well, I will definitely come back to this hostel where I could feel home. Madame Isabelle’s was such an amazing find! It is beautiful and the atmosphere there is really warm. The location was perfect, tucked into a quiet area but right next to Frenchmen’s street. The staff are super helpful and kind. They even made special dessert and are going above and beyond to make it special. It was really nice meeting people of all ages from around the world in the back garden and hot tub area and having good conversations. I stayed in a private room and it exceeded my expectations. I would recommend highly and come back again! Not just a basic stay, full of vibrancy and uniqueness!

Had such an amazing stay here, my girlfriend and I were stoked before we came but it was above and beyond expectations! We got a private room and it was cozy, comfy, and clean. Everyone that works here is super nice and clearly enjoy what they do there. Very cool back yard patio area to hang out in and have a beer and conversate, even had a hot tub that was nice to hang out in. Nice kitchen and dining room upstairs and it’s just a couple blocks from Frenchman which is ideal if you’re into some live music. Will definitely stop in here again next time I’m looking for a place in New Orleans…
