Wholeheartedly agree with previous reviewers: superb stay in this delightful small hotel with excellent food. Beth and Christopher were fantastic hosts. The whole premises is fresh and of high standard. Both the Snug bar and the restaurants are welcoming, and the room facilities comprehensive. The hotel is wonderfully located beside the river, and New Luce is a lovely village. We were lucky enough to have a clear night sky to make good use of the star gazing hut, our only disappointment that our walk to the Caves of Kilhern was curtailed by extreme bogginess! Definitely hope to return.

We stayed here a couple of nights. Lovely room in a beautiful location. Great hosts! Breakfast was fantastic, good choice and excellent quality! Evening menu was a set menu with various options of 2,3, 4 + courses. All food was made with good quality ingredients. Delicious! Restaurant area very comfy seats overlooking the river. Could do with a wider range of dry gins good offering of flavoured ones tho.

Fabulous Sunday lunch - excellent value. The owners have done a great job renovating this place and creating a delicious menu. Attention to detail across the board - both the food and decor. It’s worth making the journey along winding roads to the lovely village. We’ll be back soon!

Greeted warmly on arrival, showed to our room which was beautifully decorated with a view of the river and the quaint little cottages of New Luce. The bed was very comfy, and the bathroom was airy and bright. All the food was superb and the chef himself came to check the menu due to me being vegetarian..individual service...wow.

What an absolute gem of a place. The Kenmuir Arms is tasteful from the moment you step through the door. Everywhere is beautifully decorated and co-ordinated. We were greeted warmly by the host and hostess and nothing was too much trouble. We asked for the bed to be turned into 2 singles as we were friends travelling together and within 15 mins it was done while we sat in the lovely garden overlooking the river. The bedroom.was very comfortable with the now converted beds, a modern sofa and 2 comfy chairs by the window looking out over the river and village. The meals we had while staying there were superb and Chris the chef certainly knows how to put together a wonderful tasty meal and even went out of his way to prepare special dishes for my veggie friend. Prices for food were also very reasonable. A truly wonderful find and deserves all the accolades it's earned in the last year. Thank you so much

Found this Gem by accident, loved our stay here. It’s hidden in the countryside. Beautifully refurbished and the food is 5 star. It’s only 12 miles from Carinryan Ferry, so only over 20 mins drive. This is how we found it. We were leaving on the ferry the following morning, so gutted we could not stay 2nd night. If you are looking for a quiet restful place overnight or a weekend this is well recommended. Not always open so check first

Stayed for one night before catching ferry from Cairnryan. Room was spacious, tastefully decorated and modern. Food in the restaurant was simply outstanding, with the chef coming out to speak to diners and ensure food was to their satisfaction. Waitresses also very friendly and accommodating. Great experience, would not hesitate to return if in the area.

A great spot. I’ve been trying to stay for a while and finally was in the area and they had a spare room. Staff were superb - the place has just been fully refitted and done to a great standard. Breakfast was great too. Very convenient for exploring the area and set in a lovely setting on the stream

What a gem! We have just had 3 fantastic days at the Kenmuir Arms. I knew it was going to be good after reading the reviews, but we were blown away! The room was clean and spacious with beautiful views of the river and village, the bed was super comfy, and the food and wine was magnificent! From the moment we arrived we were met by a lovely young lady who got us checked in pronto! We stayed during the village gala which is held at the Kenmuir Arms, it was fantastic to see the whole village coming together as a community. I feel so rude not knowing the names of the two gents who make the whole thing come to together so incredibly whilst still achieving a wonderful relaxed atmosphere. The menu is fantastic and full of high quality locally sourced produce. It's hard to decide what to have it's all so good! I only wish we could have stayed longer! If you're looking to book don't hesitate you won't be disappointed!
