Crowne Pyramids View Inn

Cario hotel scam We got scammed so you don’t have to! We are a very well travelled family and have been travelling and experiencing different countries and cultures as a family since 2002. We decided to book the Crowne Pyramid View Inn after reading the reviews online. You will see that it has glowing reviews and states on booking dot com that all rooms have views of the pyramids. Lies. The only view of the pyramids is gained from climbing an incredibly narrow old metal stairway to the rooftop. The hotel itself is at best a hostel that occupies just the top two floors of a residential building. We were collected at the airport by the hotel’s driver, who was very friendly and helpful. We were driven into a road that you only hope you’re going to drive through. We didn’t. We pulled up to a big residential building and the driver said welcome. Not what we were expecting. We were quickly ushered into a 1960’s lift and taken to the 12th floor to check in at reception which is a table in a corridor. All the staff were very friendly and even prepared food for us on arrival to eat on the roof terrace. The view from the roof terrace is incredible! That unfortunately is where the dream ends. Our room was on the 11th floor, it was incredibly noisy. Our first night we only managed around 2 hours of sleep. The constant beeping from cars outside and the barking from street dogs surrounds the hotel. We had a toilet right outside our room, we literally heard every splash, the squeak from the old hinge and the slam as the door was closed. The second night was totally unbearable and unacceptable. We had the usual noise from outside, kids letting off industrial level bangers, constant tooting and dogs barking from all corners and of course the loud toilet noises. But this night we had the internal louder noises to contend with. Our neighbours enjoying special times all night long. Either the walls are very thin or she was very loud. The hotel staff were checking someone out of their room at 02:30 and having loud conversations right outside our door. The cleaners start early in the morning. We had the cleaner banging a broom against our door at 0630 in the morning and then proceeded to mop the floors. We had absolutely no sleep that night and ended up cancelling our last nights stay, which meant we cancelled a quad bike excursion and a river nile dinner cruise. We couldn’t bear the thought of another night there. We wondered how and why they had such good reviews??!! Well, they buy your silence. My husband put a negative review on booking dot com and within 4 hours of it being posted he was contacted and offered a full refund if he removed the review. (I will upload a screenshot of the conversation). He is a strong believer in principles and rather than take the money he refused in order to let others know of the scam. It’s also important to point out the close proximity of the hotel to a mosque located next door and that the loud megaphones

Booked for the view and as a base to visit the pyramids and museums. Having never been in the middle of places like Giza it was a culture shock. The traffic is crazy and felt like a free for all, but after a while you could see that the chaos and beeping of horns is just the strange cover for traffic that constantly flows without to many hold ups. The hotel is on a backstreet off the main road and after a short ride in the lift you are greeted by friendly welcoming staff who are always happy to help. It's a family business and they are all cousins, brothers, sisters etc The room was basic but clean with a shower and toilet. The view from the window was of the pyramids in the near distance and was a stark reminder of the modern and historic values of the city. Ahmed was on hand to sort out anything we needed. Taxis, tuktuks, money. The breakfast was the same every day but it was a bit of everything. Cheese, salami, salad, bread, yogurts, fruit and more. Yusef (Hope I've spelt that right) made the best mint tea and was always working hard. There was some reviews complaining about the noise, unfortunately it's city noise and there's not much you can do about it. After an hour or so didn't even hear it. If you want to visit the pyramids and surrounding areas but don't want to break the bank doing it, I would highly recommend staying here. They look after you, can sort out all your trips and are truly a welcoming, friendly family.

This place is awful and the pictures are not the true pictures for this Hostel. This is not a hotel but a hostel where the owner will lie to you about your booking. We booked a quadruple room with balcony and got a double bed to share. After arguing we were told our room was sold out. The bathrooms are not clean and the previous guests hair and toiletries were left there. There is a sewage smell from the bathroom and you will not get any sleep here as can hear dogs barking all night.

We are very satisfied to stay at Crowne Pyramids view inn as they are running as a family business and they treated as a family. They also provide the airport pick up and drop off if you take more than 2 days stay at the Inn plus they provide very delicious breakfast and dinner as a complementary. We would like to stay there again once we had a chance to visit Egypt again. We also booked for tour in Cairo and Giza as well as ATV Quaid bike tour which is an exceptional experience for us. Me and my mum stayed in November 2023 after we'd travelled to Egypt for medical reasons. This is the best hotel I've ever stayed in for hospitality, they couldn't have done enough for us. As two women travelling we felt extremely safe. They sorted our pyramid trips to suit us and our hotel transfers, for a very reasonable price. The owner made my mother delicious meals and honestly couldn't do enough for us. I said I'd like to buy my husband and little boy an Egyptian football top and he walked us to the shop where we could find this. Fantastic views, room nice and cosy and clean. He offered me to meet his cousin who has had the same surgery. I could go on and on about how much we enjoyed this hotel but take my word, you won't regret booking it. I will be back at some point with my boys for sure, thank you for a great experience.

This place has the most kind and honest staff. The hotel is very clean and room was spotless. The owner of the Hotel is a local of the area and is very well know. The views is incredible and close to the pyramids and the new Grand egyptian museum. It’s very easy to get an uber outside the hotel otherwise they also have a lovely driver who helped us a lot. Really recommend this place :-)
