Emboita Hotel

Good Hotels within Nakuru town are disappointingly expensive. Though this medium sized facility is way off the town centre, it offers impeccable services at great value. I ahve stayed there twice and in both cases, I ahve found staff who are eager to serve and make guests feel welcome. There rooms are surprisingly well designed and furnished. Their food is fresh and with good variety. If you ask for something off the day's menu, staff would quickly prepare it. The WIFI was a disappointment though and during one stay, they helpfully gave me a gadget in my room to do some work. Other than the external surroundings that are a bit off, the facility is awesome.

I was quite fortunate having an opportunity to visit Nakuru on February 2014. Nakuru is the capital of the former Rift Valley Province, it lays 1,850 meter ablove sea level. The room I stayed was quite nice, a sort of a junior suite that consists of three main rooms; living at the entrance with a small pantry, bed room and bath room with toilet. Bedroom window is facing a valley on the southern part of Nakuru and the background is the famous Lake Nakuru. The room is quite clean and well maintained. However on the pantry there was no tableware, no oven, no nothing but a table and a basin. Location of this hotel is not at city center, it is at the outskirt, off the highway connecting Nakuru to Nyeri – Nyahururu. The restaurant downstairs has a wide range of menu, mostly Southern Asian dishes. Next to the restaurant is a small bar where people hangout on Saturday evening enjoying Tusker and do karaoke. The staffs are very friendly and helpful, especially those who work at the restaurant – they did their best to comfort the guests when their order is not available or takes long time to prepare. To prepare a cup of Lentil Soup took more than 30 minutes. If you are starving and have to have meal at this restaurant please be smart by asking the waiter “what do you have” to narrow down the selection. Then ask another question “how long does it take” if you are interested to any dishes they have – then add another 10 – 15 minutes from the minutes they mention. If you have an “Asian dine out mindset” like me, please be prepared. Apart some extra minutes for waiting my dinner, Emboita hotel is a good choice when you visit Nakuru.

Surprising seems to be a trend in the reviews here, but this place really has a way to impress both with service and excellent food. First of all, we were welcomed with hot tea when we checked in, the rooms are large suites and they are quiet and very very clean. Before every meal you get offered hot eucalyptus steamed towels (which is nice on cold days) the food was so excellent (butternut soup and anything with spinach was excellent!) that we were constantly looking forward to the next meal. also, for a conference this place really is good with beautiful conference room and good facilities.

When my Fiance flew from the US i decided to book us a room at Emboita Hotel in Nakuru. The Manager offered us an Executive suite with a living room, kitchenette, bedroom and clean bathroom. One has the privilege of taking either tea or coffee which is offered in the room.Their meals are exquisite and filling. I would love to go back.

Das Hotel ist renoviert und noch nicht ganz fertig. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Bewachter Parkplatz mit Gate vorhanden. Gegen ein kleines Trinkgeld wird auch das Auto gewaschen.
