Pangot Retreat

I visited last week with my wife and 2 kids owing to extended weekend. My initial plan was Apr 14 check-in and Apr 16 check-out, and hire a local cab (taking property owner's help) to show Nainital Zoo and Cave Gardens (and maybe few of prominent lakes) as I didn't want to drive myself because Nainital was over-crowded. Also as Pangot is 30 minute pure single-lane drive, hence I just wanted to drive twice, during check-in and check-out. Property owner/care taker name is Mr. Dinesh Chand. Last to last Sunday, I dialed around 5-6 very good properties, but all of those were pre-booked. Then someone gave me Pangot Retreat's name, and I went to its website. Room rent was 4.5K and since I wished to stay 2 nights, I paid 5K in advance. Pros of property 1. Very polite, humble staff. 2. Good food taste. 3. View is good (in summers, view is green mountains from first floor of cottage). Cons of property TOO ***Y..... 1. There was no mention while booking of room that food would not be served in room, and my family like food that way mostly. And the restaurant was not ventilated. All the windows were closed and there were no fans. We all were drenched in sweat while finishing the food. Absolute torture. If they would have served us, there was a space outside room on 1st floor of the cottage at which there was shadow, and cool air blowing. But who cares about the convenience of tourists. (only snacks were served in room, not main course). 2. While booking, Mr. Dinesh Chand said hotel is house-full and only 1 cottage is left. We reached around noon and astonishingly, the service boys said there is no food pre-prepared. And it would take approx 1.5 - 2 hours for any lunch preparation. Only Kaali Dal is there and Maggi/Omelette can be given quick. Hence, we asked for Roti and Kaali Dal and Maggi. Isn't it surprising that a hotel which is claimed to be full, does not have any kind of lunch available! 3. Towels were not there. After repeated reminders of sending towels and extra soap, they finally sent it. So they charge heavy but provide poor quality services that should have been pre-emptive. 4. Mostly, electricity was not there. Lights were running owing to inverter, maybe, but none of switches were working to charge phones. 5. They promised WiFi. but when we called one of their staff, he said it won't be there till evening (our primary phone n/w was Airtel which was not having any connectivity there, but Jio was working which was our secondary SIM provider). 6. My kids' became really unwell, non-stop cold, vomit, cough. When Mr. Dinesh finally came late evening, I told him and apologized that I would have to go back next day itself to my home, and we cannot stay for two nights as there are no medical shops in Pangot (we've to go to Nainital only which was already over-crowded due to extended weekend). However, he argued so much that you booked it for two nights, now we cannot leave in one night. I told him that it's the kids, he can see them unwell. Finally,
