Today, I made and paid for a reservation through the Treeboo app for the Treeboo RK Inn Railway Station hotel. I was attracted by the photos, the services offered, and the possibility of a potential partnership, as I am a travel consultant specializing in India for a network of over 100 independent agencies in France. I had planned to arrive at 11:00 PM. Upon my arrival, despite being the only guest, I was made to wait without explanation until 11:40 PM, at which point I was informed that the hotel does not accept foreign guests. This situation is even more surprising given that I have a Treeboo account as a foreigner. Following this, I was put in contact with a representative who suggested I be transferred to a hotel near the airport, despite the fact that I had specifically chosen this hotel due to its proximity to the railway station, as I have a train to catch tomorrow. I declined this option, and was ultimately directed to the Treeboo The Pavilion hotel in the nearby street. This hotel, not only cheaper than the one I originally booked, was in a deplorable condition: stains on the walls and ceilings, lamps ripped off or falling, air conditioning that serves more as decoration than functionality (luckily, there was a fan). The carpet in the room looks like it’s begging to be left alone, given its worn-out state, perfectly in line with the general condition of the room. The bathroom was equally unacceptable, with dirty faucets and an unclean basin and toilet. It is absolutely unacceptable to treat customers this way, without notifying them in advance of the foreign guest policy, and then dragging them around at midnight to a hotel that does not match the standard of the one initially booked. What could have been a promising partnership will instead result in a firm recommendation from our network of agencies to advise against using Treeboo and its affiliates.
