The Serai Kabini

Setai Kabini is just a picture perfect resort on the banks of the Kabini reservoir. We had a wonderful stay for 3 nights here in a Waterfront Villa and were served extremely well by all the staff. The villa itself is not very spacious but is very well maintained. It was a bit far from the reception and restaurant but we always got their buggy service on call. The food was great and the breakfast buffet spread was all very decent. The overall property is huge and well maintained. Coming to the main attraction of Kabini, the wildlife safari; the resort manages the jeep/cantor booking for both the morning and afternoon safaris which starts from the JLR which is just few hundred metres away from Serai. Serai arranges for pickup and drop to JLR. We did one morning boat safari and one afternoon jeep safari. Unfortunately we couldn’t see the big cats but other than that we were lucky to see all the other animals with deers and elephants in hundreds. Overall we had a wonderful stay at Serai Kabini and would definitely recommend.

The serai kabini is a must visit during the monsoons too. The property has breathtaking views of the Kabini river , the mountains and the forest. The property and the rooms are really well maintained. The staff is extremely courteous and friendly. The veg food is outstanding , the Executive Chef Sri Ramakant takes really good care of the guests. He prepared Litti Chokha and Dhooni wali Daal , it was delicious!!! The Safari experience was also great. Thank you Serai for a lovely holiday

Excellent stay. Staff is the best. Brilliant food. Do try out Spa. I liked the non veg food especially Mangalore fish curry, mutton curry and chicken curry. The quantity of the food is good You can have bonfire, it's amazing Overall excellent

Our experience has been fantastic. The resort is very well maintained and all facilities offered are functional. The rooms are extremely spacious with lovely well appointed bathrooms. The balcony in the front of the cottage facing the lake is an icing on the cake. The staff are extremely courteous and are very helpful. The service is very good. Breakfast is pretty sumptuous. The rates are little on the higher side but I guess to expect high quality of stay and service you need to overlook that. The jungle and boat safari are an added attraction. Both Jeep and bus available for Jungle safari at an additional cost. Our Speed boat experience was really fantastic. Overall a very nice, comfortable and enjoyable stay.

We went for a family stay at The Serai and had booked 2 rooms, one villa and one verandah room. Both were river facing and similarly sized. We got two rooms close by so it was very convenient. Most of the rooms are in pairs and are a bit of distance from each other. It makes the stay feel very private and peaceful, one feels like you have a personal space with a garden. There is a hammock with every room which is a very cute addition. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The entire staff of The Serai is top notch, they were constantly taking care of our comfort and always with a smile. Right from checkin to arranging safaris to meals and right till checkout, everything was perfect. The entire team including Chamaraj, Sathish, Mahesh, Prabhath and the entire housekeeping staff including Shivappa, Manoj were very courteous and helpful. Saleem from the management team also called us a few times to take care of our requirements. Special mention to the Spa facilities, they were just amazing. We spent a very nice afternoon at the spa and went for a couple package called “Bliss” which was just perfect. Food at the restaurant is very homely and the breakfast spread is very nice. Safaris were arranged by the Serai team and it’s quite comfortable to plan them just a day in advance based on the weather. I read quite a few mixed reviews before going, but I can assure anyone going to the Serai - that they would have a great time. It was a very peaceful and relaxing stay, weather was great and the entire family enjoyed the experience. The drive was just 4 hours from Bangalore so that was very convenient too!

The place was beautiful, river backwater front property , calm and peaceful and just with a lot of greenery. Hospitality and food was just amazing. Would recommend this to anyone. We r usually picky and this place was very nice. Very close to the jungle lodges where safari starts. Would recommend for families

Sound of crashing river wave's, chirping birds and the views,3days at serai felt serene.The staff is all heart.Thanks Prabhakar and cheluva for making best gesture and service my daughter’s birthday felt like home , highly recommend this place for stay

The resort is at a great location, facing Kabini river, peaceful! Special mention to the staff who provided exceptional service. Always kind and thoughtful. But I have a big beef against this establishment that charges an arm and a leg for a room of 4 walls and has nothing included in its package - no lunch and dinner, no safari, no boat rides, no massages. Everything is an additional amount and so ends up being expensive. Is it worth that much to pay for just a great location? Not for our family!

We had visiting the Serai, Kabini for my wife's birthday celebration. It was a wonderful property with riverside villas. They had received us very warmly and provided exceptional service all throughout the stay. They take care of all arrangements including safari trips. Want to thank Mr. Supreeth, Mr. Rajesh, & Mr. Avinash for the exception care with which they made my wife's birthday arrangements in the room.
