Iberostar Selection Albufera Park All Inclusive

A top drawer experience. A few of our favourite things: the lush gardens in between the buildings, spacious rooms with comfy bedding and a decent sized balcony, buffet food that was such top quality with tremendous variety it far exceeded our expectations, wonderful pools, particularly loved the view from the rooftop bar, amazing beach, grand location next to a nature reserve which we walked through twice, high quality entertainment-especially loved the ABBA show. The service was above and beyond on all counts. We accidentally spilled water on the bed and late in the evening housekeeping came and reset the bedding. Particular special mention to Victoria on reception so professional and knowledgable, Tolo in the Martinete restaurant who gave great service and wonderful recommendations for our first Spanish restaurant experience. Also special thanks to Eilidh Marshall in sales who introduced to the Iberostar experience. We look forward to staying at other Iberostar properties.

This was our third stay at this location, but our first stay at Albufera Park. Previously we stayed at Albufer Playa. The Albufera Park and Albufera Playa are combined and thus makes a big resort with several pools and restaurants. I will start with some recommendations: - Download the Iberostar app before you leave home and get familiarized with the hotel. - As soon as you checked in, book table at some of the theme restaurants. They are very popular and difficult to get a table at. - The entertainment is great, especially at nighttime. - Send the kids to the activities for kids. They are good. We stayed for a week and really enjoyed it. The service at the hotel is excellent and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is good and there is always plenty to choose from. This is all-inclusive, but the standard is high and there is never an empty tray. Although we had a hired car, we did hardly leave the resort. It was just too nice :). The room was really nice. It was for 4 persons and plenty of space including a terraces. All in all this comes down to the great staff working here. They are so friendly and helpful and you fell so welcome.

I had my reservations about Mallorca imagining it to be full of drunken/loud people. There were some but I came back with a warm heart from the local people’s niceness, friendliness and openness. And grew fondness for this special island. What worked really well: Top customer service: First night we slept badly as we faced the animated area and we have young children who wake up early. Not a great combination! Reception listened to us and explained for a small increase we can change rooms, we did and the room was perfect. Range of family friendly and fun activities for all ages Variety of pools. Nearby beach. We could eat in any of the restaurants provided you pre booked. Personnel (Reception , Cleaners, waiting staff, entertainers) all super approachable and helpful for example we needed the bed sheets changed due to an accident by our young one - this was done quickly and with a smile. Immense variety of food at the main Restaurant. The Chefs were absolutely amazing. Mauricio and Chef’s photo below whose name I didn’t catch get special mention, particularly for their dedication to be accommodating for special diets. One of our children has multiple allergies and I am lactose intolerant and everyday I spoke to the chef on duty and either a fresh dish minus relevant allergens was made and/or we went around the massive buffets and the Chef on duty showed me what was safe. The Chefs, kitchen and waiting staff work super hard are efficient and are the soul of the place. I would have given the hotel a 5 rating but my reticence is due to the inaccurate display or labelling of allergens. This was confirmed to be in the restaurant when something showed it was dairy free but I could se cream. I mentioned this to the Hotel Management that it would be better to not have allergens displayed and simply put “ Inquire about allergens” signs but this wasn’t done. We pre-warned the hotel ahead of our stay about our situation and I am vocal enough to question ingredients. However I appreciate that not everyone may feel comfortable to question the displayed allergens es specially if they don’t speak the local language. And that creates a risk as someone with a severe allergy may trust the wrongly -labelled allergens. But overall- highly recommended destination particularly for families with young children in May.

The Iberostar website doesn't do the hotel justice. We stayed from 4th to 14th June 2024 in room 2107, which was a premium family room with garden view. It overlooks the garden and trampoline just outside of reception. We travelled as a family with a 3.5 year old. Would come back again. Its worth nothing that hotel is a shared complex of 3 buildings, comprising of both Albufera Park and Albufera Playa. They share the same facilities, its just Albufera Park is closer to water park and play activities, whilst Albufera Playa has the normal pool and hot hub closer. Your choice of room is likely to have an important impact on your enjoyment based on what matters to you given the range of onsite amenities. Do you want to by directly outside the park/water bucket/splash park, or do you want a short walk. Our son is autistic, and having him in close proximity but not directly outside them was great. Firstly, the NFC wristbands that give you access to your room is a game changer. Everyone should do this. The fact I can just walk out and go to the beach in just my swimming gear then back to the room and swipe in without a key I could have lost is a freeing experience. Add to the fact, everyone has a band there is no need to keep swapping keys between family members so they can go to the room. The room is good, split between parents and children, where children have dedicated area in the living room. Plenty of space, although more coat hangers or drawers in the parents bedroom would have been useful. Balcony has 2 chairs and table, and area to dry clothes. The bathroom is good, great shower, powerful and warm water. There are multiple parks, one just outside the hotel and another alongside the side of the hotel, directly accessible from floor 1 rooms B1 block on that side. There is a splash park with water buckets next to the park. On to the main pools, there are 4, one with an inflatable dome that can be climbed, 2 more shallow pools with a small and big water slide, and finally the main pool that is about 7ft deep at the max, but all entry points are swallow so safe for kids. The main pool had a range of activities on different days like slides, floating mats, foam party's. You can of course access the 3 normal pools located at Albufera Playa which is a 1 minute walk away if you want something quieter. To add to this, there are also infinity pools located on the roof which are accessible by stairs or elevator. Access to the beach is easy, less an a minute walk you can get into the sea, and with rooms close to the beach access you can there from your room very quickly depending on your room choice. Wi-fi availability is good, 130Mbps download, you can even just about get it on the beach next to the life guard tower. The food was in my opinion average, fine for the price paid, its not a criticism given most hotels I have stayed at can cost almost 50% more (Maldives, Mauritius, Galapagos islands) so it is what I had expected. We just returned from the most amazing break at Iberostar Albufera Park. Hotel/room The hotel is beautiful, very clean and well maintained. The staff are lovely and very welcoming. Our room was very spacious and comfortable for a family of four. We requested a travel cot as we had a toddler with us and were able to use this in the lounge area as there are blackout curtains in every room. Food We enjoyed the food - very fresh and tasty food. I highly recommend visiting Tamarin for lunch. Children’s options are usually chips, nuggets, burgers etc. but the food for ‘adults’ is fine to share with them too! We were fortunate enough to secure a booking at the Greek restaurant which was lovely - it was impossible to get something via the app as it appeared fully booked but we emailed reception who were very helpful! Good snacks available throughout the day and staff were accommodating in providing milk for my toddler. My only criticism is that it would be nice to have plastic plates/cutlery because my toddler throws food around a lot - like many toddlers do! Entertainment Outstanding for my 4 (almost 5) year old and 18 month old. Full agendas of fun stuff: foam party, games etc. My 4yo loved the kids club ‘Star Camp’. The staff are very bubbly and welcoming. They also put on excellent evening entertainment e.g. outdoor cinema, disco, shows. I understand the hotel are working towards improving their offering for toddlers - the sensory and messy play was brilliant and my toddler enjoyed it. The lady who was facilitating the activity was very experienced and my toddler took an instant liking to her! We also managed to join in with the daily quizzes and the football (which they hosted really well!). Swimming Amazing - very clean, loved the slides and especially enjoyed the baby pool as it meant my toddler could enjoy swimming too. We also visited the rooftop pool which is lovely for the views and the experience. It’s also lovely that staff walk around offering drinks and ice cream. The sun loungers do get busy, but we were able to find a spot every day even though we ventured out quite late. Location The beach is within walking distance and is clean and pleasant! There is also a small park outside (although the one on site is better) and a supermarket. Staff at the supermarket were a bit grumpy/rude but there are plenty of snacks and other holiday essentials (hats, sun creams, pool floats, flip flops etc). They were a bit reluctant to blow up our floats we’d bought from home - perhaps the hotel could look into providing this facility going forward? Overall it was an incredible holiday and very well catered to everyone - families with young kids like myself and those who are travelling without kids too! Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable. I hope to visit again in the future!
