The worst experience we had while on our Pamir highway trip. They wanted to charge us 100$ for 2 rooms, that didn't even have locks on the door (I guess it was the rooms for the drivers). Food was unedible, no English whatsoever to communicate (this is an overall situation however in the Stans). But if you want to accommodate tourists at least know the basics. The shared bathrooms were distgusting.
