MainStay Suites Murfreesboro

This hotel is nicely built and maintained. For the most part, everything was clean and smelled very clean. However, the service was not good. They appear to be short staffed, so the whole time we were there, the front desk staff were juggling multiple tasks that took them away from the customers at the front desk. There was no one working the breakfast area, the front desk person was working the front desk and the breakfast area. This led to there being a shortage of many things and there was much to be desired for breakfast. Also, there were some of the front desk people who seemed annoyed if you needed help. There was even a day when we asked for towels and were told that they didn’t have any. Very poor service.

Our room had a puddle of water in front of the fridge, the mattress had a stain on the side, and at 8am someone with maintenance knocked on our door and could only communicate with us using a Google Translator app. We will not be staying here again.

Everything was great. The only issue we had was the drain in the bathroom tub didn’t not drain properly. It drained the water really slow which cause us to be standing in water while taking a shower. There was also a stinch of smell upon entering the room. Not too bad of a smell, but not as fresh as it could be.

Pests We had a room reserved for three nights. The first night went smoothly, but the next morning, I noticed movement out of the corner of my eye in the restroom. Upon closer inspection, I discovered a large cockroach climbing up the wall. When I grabbed my phone to document it, I returned to find it on the floor, crawling under the bathroom sink, after which I didn’t see it again. I immediately contacted the front desk, and the staff member I spoke with was very apologetic. After consulting with her manager, they promptly moved us to a new room on another floor. Despite this resolution, I struggled to feel comfortable for the remainder of our stay, feeling uneasy about sleeping or using the restroom. As a result, we decided to leave around 9 p.m. on our final night. I did not request any compensation or escalate the situation further because I understand that it is impossible to eliminate all pests entirely. I would also like to note that I have stayed at this hotel several times, and this is the first negative experience I've encountered.

Very clean, staff were excellent, friendly and so helpful. Loved everything about our stay. Would stay here again.

During our stay there were limited towels, the juice machine was out of order, minimal options for breakfast, and no the parking lot was full and did not offer parking for trailers. The main area was nice for hanging out and lounging and the beds were soft and comfortable.
