Rosewood Munich

Good new hotel but the restaurant is still new and lacking the standards of a 5 star hotel.

The location is spot on, very close to the shopping streets, but still on a quiet corner, so no cars driving through all the time. The service, attention to detail and extremely friendly, gentle and professional customer service across the whole property is what made this hotel special. From the front desk, to the breakfast staff and pool ladies, everyone was more than helpful and willing to do anything to make my life more pleasant. I especially enjoyed the friendly, attentive and professional service at the breakfast, they rememberedy name, room number and my orders very quickly, making me feel special and more than a random guest. The breakfast was truly 10/10. Very often a breakfast has a limit what is included to the room rate from the made-to-order list, but not here! You can order every single dish from the list if you wosh with no extra charge! (Btw you will not be able to, as there are like 30 dishes available + the small buffet). The pool is very calming, pleasure to the eye and very luxurious. The warm sunbeds were my very favorites! The bed was very very comfy, with the nice down topper making it very soft. Pillows are quite hard and high, and I did not find a pillow menu to fix the issue. The only other issue we had was with the turndown service. We specifically asked it to be timed between 6-7 after the first night, but it really did not work out for some reason. The next 2 nights they came after 9 pm when we already were back in the room showering. Then they missed us completely one evening, and finally then they did hit the right time. Also make sure to check your invoices, we had booked a rate that included the breakfast, but in the invoice they still had the breakfasts added for each morning. I asked them to fix it but still had one breakfast slipped into the bill even after noting them. All in all this experience made me a fan of Rosewood hotels, this being my first stay with them. I would consider them to be very much on par with Mandarin Orientals, St Regis and way above Park Hyatts, Waldorfs and Ritz Carltons.

Our stay at the Rosewood Munich in April for three nights was one for the playbooks with every aspect perfection at its highest. Welcoming greetings begin at curbside with a smile followed by attentive assistance to check-in and beyond. The service is unparalleled and every staff member aims to make your experience at the hotel and in Munich memorable. They succeed exceedingly and unequivocally! Our suite defies description but I will try to do it justice. Suite 123 is on the first floor overlooking the city. On two levels. our suite was comparable to a move-in-ready, spacious, luxurious apar**ent outfitted with every convenience such as a wine/beverage/Nespresso bar replete with a fully stocked refrigerator. The marble bathroom took my breath away with the drawer filled with every item you might have forgotten, soft towels with extras, double sinks, free-standing soaking bath tub, and separate large walk-in shower as well as a separate room for the toilet. The bathroom has a huge floor to ceiling window with a remote controlled curtain. With its high ceilings, the bathroom like the rest of the suite, is bright and airy. There were two closets with a cushioned built-in in between and plenty of space for two luggage racks and our two bulky suitcases. The closets had plenty of hangars; soft robes and attractive, comfortable, sturdy slippers. The living area also had a huge floor to ceiling window with a remote controlled curtain. The decor was contemporary, understated elegance - truly beautifully styled but not overdone. I could find no fault especially after my husband and I figured out the controls. I must admit that I am technologically challenged. Our suite had many special features - too many to enumerate! The Rosewood Team is a team in every way; choreographed to ensure that each guest has an unforgettable stay. The welcome wine and delicious sweets were much appreciated and enjoyed. A special shout-out to the Check-in team, team members and to the Concierges who made sure that our stay in Munich was Magnificent, Marvelous and Magical.

The location is amazing and very central.That is the best and the only positive thing about the hotel.Reserving it I asked for a very quiet room and a receptionist assured me I have got it.During the night I discovered that my room was facing the car park (like 40 meters away) with all the noises possible and impossible.Then after I had to take a slipping pill to get to sleep ,I was woken up before 6am with the delivery noises and rubbish clearance right below my room.The staff is trying to be helpful but they (90%) nor speak nor understand English! The concierge is giving you directions round the hotel and is mistaken where left and right is.The level of unprofessionalism of the people working there is ridiculous.The hotel logistics is absurd as its full of stairs and strange passages.Not wheelchair or people with injuries friendly.The cherry on top of the cake was that I bought some articles from them which appeared to be wrong sizes when I got home and the management did not care nor getting back to me nor sending apologies.

A l'occasion de notre séjour à Munich, nous avons fait le choix du Rosewood. Nous y avons séjourné 4 nuits. L'hôtel est flambant neuf (ouverture en 2023), à la décoration art-déco magnifique. Les chambres et suites (nous avons pu tester les deux), sont magnifiquement agencées et très épurées. Les meubles sont de grande qualité tout comme les produits de soins proposés en chambre. Nous avons eu quelques petits soucis pour le service de nuit mais la réactivité de la responsable de la réception a été extrêmement efficace et au-delà de nos attentes. Le personnel est aux petits-soins, attentif, souriant et disponible. Les petits-déjeuner sont parfaits, autant en chambre qu'en salle. Un excellent séjour donc et nous y reviendrons sans hésiter lors de notre prochain séjour à Munich. Merci à toute l'équipe.

Schade, dass das Hotel derart schlecht beschildert ist. Als Ortsunkundiger muss man schon ganz konzentriert unterwegs sein, damit man den Hoteleingang findet, denn eigentlich sieht es immer noch wie die Bank aus, die das Hotel einmal war. Innen überzeugt eine luxuriöse Innenarchitektur, die seinesgleichen sucht; die Räumlichkeiten sind hochwertig und modern, ohne opulent oder kalt zu wirken. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, aber leider hatten wir wahrscheinlich das Wochenende der Negativauslese erwischt: In der Bar wird man gesetzt; das Personal merkt aber nicht, dass man die Leute etwas verteilen könnte, anstatt alle Tische nebeneinander zu besetzen. So kommt keine Privatsphäre zustande. Die Barspeisen sind sehr vielfältig und von höchster Güte; wer aber satt werden möchte, geht besser ins Restaurant; die Portionen sind mickrig. Der Frühstücksservice war zu Beginn sehr aufmerksam, das Konzept des Buffetts ist allerdings zu überdenken: entweder ist alles bedient und entsprechend der Service am Tisch, oder es hat eben ein Buffett, das in seiner ganzen Vielfalt zur Verfügung steht. Die Mischform, zu der man mangels Alternative greifen muss, macht es nicht einfach. Eine ganz tolle Brotauswahl wird durch das minimalistische Kaltspeisen Buffett zunichte gemacht: 3 Scheiben Kochs*****en und 6 daumengrosse Salametti resp einen Anschnitt Blauschimmelkäse, einen ebenso kleinen Weissschimmelkäse und eine völlig vertrocknete Scheibe Halbhartkäse war die komplette Auswahl. Daraufhin haben wir uns entschieden, das Käsesortiment à la carte zu bestellen. Auf diese Bestellung haben wir dann gut 20 Minuten gewartet. Das check-out war ebenfalls äusserst freundlich und zuvorkommend; auf unseren Wagen ("Ein Mitarbeiter ist bereits unterwegs, um Ihren Wagen zu holen") haben wir dann allerdings auch warten müssen, so dass sich unsere Reise kumuliert um eine halbe Stunde verzögert hat. Schade, in so einem prunkvollen Haus hätten wir einfach mehr erwartet. Im Wissen, dass die Eröffnung erst Ende Oktober war, sind wir überzeugt, dass, wenn sich alle Prozesse eingeschliffen haben werden, 5* in der Bewertung locker erreicht werden können. PS: als Gast empfiehlt es sich, ein Zimmer nicht strassenseitig zu buchen; die Fenster sind miserabel schallisoliert.

Wir verbrachten 4 entspannte Tage mit 6 Personen in diesem wirklich wunderschönen Hotel. Für München eine echte Bereicherung. Die Zimmer sind sehr geschmackvoll und hochwertig eingerichtet. Wir hätten nicht diese riesige, etwas dominante Minibar gebraucht, dafür hätten wir uns mehr Schrankplatz gewünscht, der war für 2 Personen für 4 Tage sehr knapp. Das Frühstück im schönen Restaurant ist gut, das Buffet sehr überschaubar, aber die à la carte Gerichte hervorragend. Tee sollte in einem 5 Sterne Hotel nicht im Beutel serviert werden. Wir haben unterschiedliche Sorten bestellt, er schmeckte immer gleich bitter, weil der Beutel schon beim Servieren drin war. Das Diner im Restaurant war sehr gut und der Service aufmerksam. Die Montez Bar ist toll eingerichtet, leider war uns die Jazzmusik etwas zu laut, wir hätten uns gern unterhalten. Hier wären uns etwas gedämpftere Töne, wie wir sie in anderen Hotels schon oft erlebt haben, lieber gewesen. Alles in allem ist das Rosewood einen Besuch wert, wir haben uns wohl gefühlt.
