Tui Blue Manar

Overall we had a nice time at the Manar hotel. The entertainment team are really good with the kids. As a family we struggled with the mix of entertainment as it is very much aimed at 2-8 year old children. Our kids are 10 & 12 so just outside the target age range for what was quite babish entertainment. There was a group called the hideout for 12+ but having a 10 + 12 year they wouldn't separate and leave the ten year old alone. Food was great a little repetitive at times but still something to eat each day. The sandwich shack was good and made great paninis. Activity pool was very active and you'll either love it or hate it.... Personally I loved it as I like to mingle but my partner didn't as it was to splashy and always run the risk of being hit in the face by a ball or Inflatable. The quiet pool was nice but didn't think much of the lifeguard has was quite rude to people around the pool who so much as coughed. Pointing and shouting quite people and blowing his whistle none stop. Became very irritating that the person making all the noise was actually only the lifeguard himself. Beach was nice, good to have the bar available too so wasn't having to walk far for drinks. Water was warm and sea was calm. Overall the hotel ticked a lot of boxes for a family holiday. I don't think personally we would return, but this is just based on the age of our children. If we had kids that were between 2-8 I think I'd book again for next year. Every young child looked like they were living their best life. And it was great to see younger family's having so much fun. Customer service overall was great and the hotel has a lot going for it. A lovely place to visit we went as a couple but it’s definitely a family focused resort! We had an amazing time which was enhanced truly by the amazing staff! One member of staff was Chahir, he was super kind and thoughtful and constantly went out of his was to ensure me and my partner were happy and “relaxed”. We couldn’t ask for a nicer member of staff who really cared. Thank you so much Chahir for making our holiday extra special and memorable! :)

Firstly I'd like to say the local staff are very friendly. The service provided is very inconsistent and is based around a tip culture which still doesn't guarantee a consistent service. We tipped approximately £300 to various staff over two weeks and they were extremely grateful. Unfortunately it goes downhill from there. We stayed in the swim up in manar 1 which looked nice on the photos. On arrival the pools are in a bad state. They are rubber lined with parts separated from the inner shell of the pool. There is a green waxy substance around the top lining of the pool that is years of suncream that has built up..it gets worse! Each morning there was a barrage of food and cigarettes dump in our patio and pool from the rooms above, at first we thought it was a one off but it was a daily thing. I witnessed on male each a peach from above then throw the peach straight into our pool. (It gets worse!) The corridor on -1 level is infested with mosquitoes literally 1000s. I bought two cans of mosquito killer from the local supermarket which cleared them for two nights. When the cans ran out. There was even more. There was no attempt from the hotel to control this to the point reception "borrowed" me a can of mosquito killer but asked for the can back after I used it. (It gets worse!!!) Whilst my young daughter was playing in the pool two adults decided to start having full on sex on the balcony above they had no regard for anyone watching and there were a few watching lol. I had to grab my daughter and take her inside. Staff at reception didn't seem bothered it was only the rep Cassie who took it seriously. To summarise the hotel has potential but unfortunately some of the guests mainly UK brought the place down. And yes I live in the UK. Ps. Every bottle of coke we were given was out of date.

We booked this package at a high price, having done a Tui package the year before at a Magic Life which we had loved for the pool games and entertainment. This looked like there would be a lot to do but unfortunately it really disappointed in that department. Tui transfer took over 3 hours ! We were a family of 6, with children between 10 and 15. The hotel games were mostly aimed at adults - with archery being 18+ and football being 12+ which my son was one week away from and didn't want to do the baby activities as they were very childish. Nighttime entertainment was aimed at small kids too so we just sat and played cards mostly- the pool table always had a queue and not much else going on at night. For the size of the hotel the pool is far too small, the relax pool isn't suitable for kids as you get angrily shhh'd for speaking and the slide pool was jam packed so we were left with one pool which was very busy and closed for a whole afternoon when there had been a poo incident in all 3 pools! On that day all we got for entertainment was a Scottish woman singing which nobody seemed to enjoy ! Slide pool was impossible to get a ring as the local guests just don't share them and the parents won't let you take one for your child even if you ask nicely... We were hounded a bit round the pool to buy photos or book excursions... Table tennis was out of action and volleyball was usually full. The positives were the cleanliness of rooms, the lovely beach- the lifeguard at the beach was excellent when my husband had a very bad jellyfish sting in the sea... Camel and horse ride at good prices and the buffet was good. Plus no upset tummies which was a huge relief after so many reports but in fairness we didn't speak to anyone who'd been ill so that was the best positive. All in all, we wouldn't return, for even half of the price- but it was ok. If you're looking for the typical fun Tui pool games of standing on surf boards or diving down for a spoon etc- nothing like this happened at all. No karaoke, no inflatable party etc... just a weak silent disco and a foam party that made everyone's eyes sore! We took a taxi for £2.50 to the market a couple of days which was fun, and we did get a good tan... Definitely wouldn't consider it for it's entertainment which is why we booked it, super underwhelming across the board for activities.
