Portes Lithos

This hotel is lovely. The staff are friendly (except the manager!) and they do everything to make your holiday memorable. The reception staff were particularly helpful, going above and beyond when we needed some medications. It was immaculately clean. The pool, spa and beach are gorgeous - the sea can be quite rough but on the quieter days it was warm and we spent ages bobbing about. Take beach shoes as there are pebbles. The food was better than good, plenty of variety but the dining experience was constantly spoiled - inside it was like a canteen and outside we were attacked by flies, wasps and cats - I’m sure this could easily be sorted. It was definitely worth going to Afitos - a little town with restaurants, bars and shops -about 30 euros in a taxi. We also hired a boat from Luxury Sports Cruise on the second peninsular which is a must - the best day. It is about an hour away but totally worth it for a day at sea. They give very detailed training and instructions. The boat had gps, Bluetooth for music, cool box and there are a couple of tavernas on route to eat. Our boat held 8 people. On the whole a fabulous holiday. With something to catch the flies and wasps it would have been perfect.

Lovely hotel, perfect for families with kids. Pool and private beach in close proximity and perfectly maintained. Restaurant menu offers a wide variety of choices and set up is very convenient. Hotel Spa also very good lovely staf and very good services. We had several sessions with John and he is a wonderful therapist, highly recommended.

Hotel concierge only takes cash in hand. No ATM in the hotel. You are told to get a taxi to the local town to get cash for excursions. When challenged the hotel argues the concierge isn't a hotel service despite being a desk next to the reception. Very poor. Not a 5 star service at all.
