motel a Hanksville

Whispering Sands is a wonderful recently remodeled motel. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds; high water pressure in shower; quiet air conditioner. Can pull your vehicle right up to the room door. Large off road vehicle park in the middle of its massive parking lot And thereby do not effect the regular vehicle parking by the motel rooms doors. Ice machine is under the stairs in the middle of the motel. Half of motel is two floors. We booked the single level area, since we do not do stairs. Hanksville, is a very, very small town. And this is our second time there. To revisit Goblin State Park 40 minutes away. And go off road to see the Mars Research facility just outside of town. First thing we did when we got to town is to buy a T-shirt ”Where The Hell Is Hanksville”. Two T-shirt shops (one in a cave by the gas station) and the other by the second gas station. Yes Hanksville has two gas stations. And one great restaurant two blocks from the motel. Ducks Slickrock Grill. ”Duke” owns the RV park/the restaurant/the hamburger place and the gas station next to it... He has put a lot of money into this town to make it as great as it is. And he employs good people to run it.
