motel a Champaign

Amo questo hotel così tanto!! Ha super le mutandine morbide, la pressione dell'acqua è stata sorprendente nella mia stanza. Il personale è incredibilmente bello e mi ha dato degli asciugamani e bianchetti aggiuntivi. Non sono mai stato a Champagne prima e scegliere questo hotel è stata una grande esperienza. Tornerò ogni volta che sono in Champagne, IL!

I stayed at the Red Roof Inn on Anthony Drive from August 17-19 2023. Having stayed at good Red Roofs before, I expected that the price tag of $230 for 2 nights in Champaign would get me clean, comfortable, and safe lodging. Unfortunately, this inn was the exact opposite. The room was filthy. Every step inside the room was impeded by the layer of sticky grime on the floor. The furniture and fixtures had seen better days, likely the '00s. The bedsheets weren't sparkling clean, either. See attached photos. The next thing I noticed is that the wi-fi didn't work. Signing into the network would try to run a script on your device (possibly for content injection à la Super 8 Motel?). When that failed, no more Internet. As I settled into bed, trying not to think of the dirt on the sheets, I was treated to a symphony of my neighbor on one side watching TV, my neighbor on the other snoring peacefully, and of course the highway traffic. You can't really blame the franchisees for the thin walls or the location, in all fairness. The next morning, I treated myself to styrofoam cup of skunky lobby coffee while waiting for a Lyft into town. One or two heavily tattooed men roamed the parking lot at all times, taking in the ambiance. It was a long wait, as no drivers seemed interested in coming to this location for some reason. I mentioned the experience to my driver the next morning, who breathed a sigh of relief and replied, ”Yeah, you don't look like the kind of guy who stays there.” Overall, I was severely disappointed by the state of this Red Roof Inn franchise, especially given the cost of the stay. It turns out that this was move-in week at the university, sending prices through the (red) roof. In my opinion, even at the current price of $63/night, it's still too expensive for such a dump.
