Midland Hotel

Classic hotel. The 80’ 5*. Great view from room 222. Nonetheless the room is outdated. The elevator is ages old. Good for short stay. The location is superb with walking distance to Morrisons and Aldi. Great breakfast and environment.

Ignore the bad reviews. Food is excellent, staff super & friendly. Lovely Art Deco features especially the staircase!

The trip was a surprise night away for my partner’s birthday, was really lovely. All the staff were really friendly and helpful.

Superb location with views of the Bay and across to the Lakes. Staff excellent, not just well-trained but ‘nice’ as well. Food excellent with good choice at breakfast and for dinner, especially the Chef’s recommendation.

My partner, myself and our 4 month old puppy stayed in a beautiful suite with bedroom and on suite bathroom, lounge and kitchen with another toilet (very handy) just off the kitchen. Huge glass patio doors to a huge outdoor terrace with balcony including table and chairs which we had our evening meals on while enjoying a most beautiful view. The breakfast and dinners were excellent. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The suite was expensive but WORTH IT. There are also cheaper rooms which are also very beautiful and we usually stay in these, the suite was just a treat to ourselves. Only marked down for container full of cigarettes on the terrace not emptied (easily missed) which we soon sorted and was not a problem. Will we be back ??? We booked the Midland again the day after we got home.

Stayed here for a night in September 2024, 6 years since previous visit which was lovely. First impression is that it's no longer white and the exterior is well overdue painting. The architecture is beautiful, to not maintain it is criminal! The rooms are really lovely, the beds are so comfy, everything is clean, superbly equipped and the balcony rooms have fabulous views. I'm not sure what's happening in the foyer area - the staircase is magnificent but the rest of that are is a kind of mish-mash of unappealing furniture. It could be so much more! Staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed a dinner watching the sunset with nice starters, desserts and wine. 3 of the 4 of us had Fish Pie - what was that? I'm sorry to say it really was terrible. The 4th dinner was Pie of the Day which was excellent. We were just unlucky that someone bludgeoned the Fish Pie on this occasion. All in all - a really lovely stay. It's an iconic hotel so would love to see it kept in keeping with it's iconic status. Paint the extetior, vamp up the foyer, stop that Fish Pie and you've smashed it!

Hotel was clean and well staffed. Room with sea view and balcony on first floor was spacious and comfortable. Good sized bed and shower. Tea & coffee making facilities, tv, iron etc. plenty of storage space. Although we didn't eat in the evening, the breakfast was good with plenty of choices though we did have to approach a waiter to take our cooked breakfast order. Can't complain although the price was a little steep albeit a weekend booking. Would recommend...........

The bedroom was beautifully decorated and bed comfy. The massive bathroom, fridge, comfy chairs and interesting decor marked it up as better than the average. The public areas are amazing and view over Morecambe bay at sunset memorable. The breakfast was freshly cooked and piping hot, the best I've had in a hotel. The only quibble was waiting ages to be served in the bar. I joined a queue then after 20 minutes realised the staff were now serving another queue!

Poor bar and restaurant service. The quality of the food was poor. Ordered food required enquiries due to delays.
