Hotel El Amanecer

I loved this quaint, small hotel! I stayed here as part of a group tour and this was by far one of my favorite hotels. The owners and staff are so friendly and accommodating. We had the majority of our meals here, prepared by the staff and the food was always delicious. The hotel has an open air common area which is great for groups. There is a small store within walking distance and you can also walk into the town area. I always felt very safe at this hotel.

Dreadful! Here for two nights as part of an "Intrepid Travel" tour. Very basic rooms and extremely noisy. I seldom complain about accommodation but had to move room on account of noise from both sides. Alternative led to one night below continual stompings from the room above and uninvited guests (cockroaches). Breakfast was only mediocre for the price paid.

This hotel was very comfortable and friendly. We had a family style room so our kids had their own beds, which is always a plus. This hotel is an amazing value for the price and we liked that is was just on the edge of the town not in the hustle and bustle of the main town area.

This place is a dump. None of the rooms have windows, there are glass shutters that do not block out noise. It's loud and there is no AC. There were dead beetles in the bedsheets and a bunch of flying insects. I would not recommend to anyone.

Nice hotel on the outskirts of the main business area of Santa Elena. It was very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast provided was nice. No AC but not really needed in this area. No exterior windows for any rooms - the windows look out on a common area with two full floors . While we were there it was used twice by large tour groups - the kind that travel in those large buses. So it could seem chaotic at the times that they disgorged passengers and when they all ate at the same time at breakfast. No TV. Internet service came and went a bit while we were there. There are a couple of restaurants a very short walk away and a 10 minute walk to downtown Santa Elena where there's lots of retail and restaurants. Here's the problem and it's not a problem that the hotel can solve - this town loves its motorcycles and the motorcycles seemingly race around, up and down the hills of the town all day and all night. We heard motorcycles at 2 and 3 in the morning revving up just for a bit more fun. And it seemed like most didn't really have a functioning muffler. I think you know what I am trying to say. No thought that people might want to sleep. This made it difficult to actually get a decent night of sleep. Apparently this is just part of the Monteverde experience. Forewarned is forearmed, just not with a good muffler system.

Un lugar muy lindo y acogedor, la atención fenomenal. Lo recomiendo ampliamente
