Sandals Montego Bay All Inclusive - Couples Only

The entertainment staff was fantastic! We loved Geo, “Super Mario”, Darrel, Christopher, and Caloney was the best bartender! Also, Jordan on the saxophone was amazing! We had a great time playing beach volleyball with the staff too! Everyone was wonderful and our view was beautiful!

My husband and I came to this location for our anniversary. We like Sandals and have been at different locations and to Jamaica before. This was our first time at Montego Bay. We arrived for reunion week for returning guest. The staff were great as always. Very helpful and courteous. This Montego Bay location being the original sandals I was surprised the entertainment was pretty much non existent. I didn’t hear reggae music playing throughout the day. No Bob Marley music at all. How could that happen? I heard American music that I could hear anytime. We come to Jamaica to feel and see the culture. We would like to have had Reggae and cultural entertainment. Several guest we spoke with agreed and were disappointed. They took out their own playlist and speakers. It felt like I was at a resort in Florida. I heard that Montego Bay was an entertaining resort but it was the opposite. It was quite but relaxing. Something felt off. A few menu items were out of stock in two of the restaurants. Butches was highly recommended but the steak was not up to expectations. We are returning to sandals but will go to another location. I did enjoy the Red Line Spa. They were great! The resort and rooms were clean.

This property earned five stars for its excellent service, great food and proximity to the airport. We stayed in an oceanfront honeymoon club level room with tranquility soaking tub. Overall, I thought the room was lovely. It’s been nicely upgraded and has a sizable closet and huge walk-in shower. The room overall is a little smaller than other Sandals rooms we’ve stayed in (this was our 10th Sandals stay and 9th Sandals overall). Bed was comfy and room was clean. Kudos to housekeeping for doing an excellent job. As always, service and staff were excellent. We’d like to shoutout Leroy at the Latitudes Bar, which is a tranquil, secluded bar over the water with hammocks (our fav bar there). Terry Ann at the bar by Mariners kept the drinks flowing and conversation going; very fun. Butch’s - Absolutely go for a la carte breakfast. (No reservation for breakfast needed. Breakfast ends promptly at 11, not available Sundays). We had breakfast there twice and enjoyed steak and eggs, a lobster and crab omelette and smoked salmon Benedict to give an idea of the menu. We had a lovely birthday dinner there for my husband but it’s hard to get in for dinner, so book a reservation as soon as you arrive! (Only restaurant that requires a dinner reservation). I always recommend Club Level or Butler so you have an advocate for anything you need from an extra bottle of bubbles in your room to towels…or snails. Example: I was craving escargots the entire time but Bayside was out until our last night, Sunday. Knowing we had a reservation at Butch's, Cory the concierge made it happen. I had escargots to go as my appetizer. So. Good. Would I have been ok without the food before the food? Of course. But he went above and beyond. Speaking of food before the food, soy is excellent for an entire meal or a heavy appetizer of a couple sushi rolls. The champagne roll was our favorite. (Opens at 5:30 nightly) Much love to the spa and Alecia for a great raindrops dream massage. If I had to find a negative it would be the smaller pool sizes. Example: the pool by the piano bar had 18 chairs and all were taken by butlers early on for their guests. That said never had a problem finding a chair on the beach. EXCURSION: We wanted something close, and loving scary stories, we opted for a night time tour with Island routes of the Rose Hall Great House down the road. A private driver takes you to the 6,000 acre property, where you go on a guided spooky tour learning about the “White Witch”. We enjoyed the tour very much and learning more about the culture and history of the plantation. Plus, actors dressed as ghosts scared my husband so it was priceless.

Our experience was two fold. Our butler's were wonderful, Sean and Navaldo. They were very attentive, friendly and helpful. The entertainment staff was amazing. They really get the audience involved and hyped up! They are all very talented and we looked forward to all the activities they would put on. Now as for the negative experience, which put a large damper on the vacation. We had a very significant problem with one of our excursions. I am almost 100% positive it was a Sandals error. We would never know though, because we asked for a manager on 2 different days, and no one would actually meet with us. They went through the butlers which is extremely unprofessional. Then the compensation was only going to be 25%off the excursion, which definitely did not meet the problem/experience we had. We finally got 50% off, but again, not enough for what happened and also with no manager actually meeting with us. There were also some issues with charges on our account that we had to deal with so unfortunately, all of this took up time away from the wonderful experience we were having on our vacation. But thank you to our butler's and the entertainment staff for making the rest of our vacation wonderful.
