Lavendish Okrin Hotel

This was definitely one of our best stayed Hotel in Lanka, from extremely friendly receptionist & staff to the detailed care and concerns of our well-being by Operation manager Mr Dilran It definitely made our Katargama trip even more meaningful! Kudos to the current managing team!

Amazing staff very friendly. Place gives a homely vibe. Nice location close to temple Mr. Samsudeen comes and looks and see if you have everything and if you are comfortable looks after to very well. The place was clean and well maintained. Good food keep it up guys love the place.

It is sad to see that such a property is wasted by poor management and service. I sent my wife and kids along with my in-laws to this hotel, allowing them to worship at the Kirivehera and Katharagama Kovil. As it was a budget hotel, I did not expect it to be fancy, but basic needs and cleanliness should be met. My first experience with the hotel was that no one picked up the phone to confirm our arrival from the previous day. The person we contacted while booking the hotel was no longer there, so we were routed to a few phone numbers and finally managed to get hold of someone (the number on Google was also not answered). The first thing we noticed in our room was that the commode was not cleaned properly, even though it was taped as sanitized (please see the attached photos). Also, don't be misled by the meals you see in the photos on their website. For lunch, you get three or four options on the menu: fried rice, rice and curry, and sandwiches. Even the sandwich we got for the kids had chicken bones in it, and the portion was not sufficient. After my initial complaint regarding the bad experience we were going through, as well as the issues with the meals, management was generous enough to offer dinner at another hotel in their chain, which was good, and I thought that after this, everything would be in order. However, at breakfast this morning, when my wife moved the napkin on her plate, she was disappointed to find a half-cleaned plate with a hair on it (see the attached photo). The pool is also not clean, and I have attached a photo of it as well. The driver's quarters were not habitable at all, and we had to provide alternative arrangements for our driver. I advised my family to leave the property early, and they left just after breakfast, even though we were supposed to stay another few hours until our checkout. The experience was so bad that I regret my kids and in-laws had to go through this. I have made this complaint to the hotel management as well as their chain management. While I was in two minds about whether to post this review due to the nice gesture of the management offering dinner, I thought it was my responsibility to ensure others do not go through what we went through.

Hotel is situated in a peaceful homely environment. Staff was very friendly and we cheched in within minutes. Spacious room with all necessary amnities. Food was tasty and customized.very close proximity to the sacred wadasiti mountain and kirivehera stupa, and Kataragama devalaya. Very reasonable prices. We had a relaxing stay.

My stay at Hotel Okrin Katagarama exceeded all expectations. Situated conveniently 10min drive to the Kathirkamam Temple and just steps away from the Kathirnalai Hilltop temple climb, this hotel offers the perfect location. One of the highlights of my stay was encountering the exceptional manager, Dilran Shamsudin. Dilran’s dedication to guest satisfaction was evident from the moment I arrived. His respectful demeanor and willingness to go above and beyond to accommodate guests truly stood out. The hotel itself offers comfortable and reasonably priced accommodations, making it an ideal choice for those visiting the area. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-appointed, providing a relaxing retreat after a day of exploration. I highly recommend Hotel Okrin Katagarama to anyone looking for a pleasant stay near Kathirkamam Temple. A big thumbs up to Dilran Shamsudin and the entire staff for their outstanding hospitality. I look forward to returning in the future

The hotel is well situated close to the national park!The staff is warm and detailed to concerns, like rooms, food selection. The staff is humble and kind to partake for any needs if required. I would definitely recommend a stay here, its in par to 4stars especially cause they address the guest. Over all fab stay!
