Extended Stay America Select Suites - Mobile - I-65

I reported to the general manager that the room smelled musky, tank overflowing,clogged bathroom sink, grease and fried rice in bed, hair in bed and shower. In otherwords the room and bathroom were dirty, and in bad condition. Even roaches were in the room. She took almost two hours to wash the same bed linen and threatened me to check me out because she doesn't have anymore bed linen. After, she washed the bed linens, it still had hairs all over the comforter. When I was at work she left message on my phone she checked me out and charging me for damaging her tank. She took almost $500 out of my account for damages and threatened to call police on me. I was killing her with kindness over the phone and she started to scream othat I was yelling because I'm black to call police on me.

Worst Embassy Suites stay I have ever had. A brief list of issues: - Requested housekeeping the first morning of our two night stay. Was told fine. Later in the day I was told I needed to give 24 hours notice, even though the sign in the room says nothing about this and the front desk person didn't mention it when I made the initial request - Nasty front desk person - HVAC didn't work the second night - Wifi was intermittent - Gym equipment is ancient and two treadmills are broken - Hot buffet breakfast was cold - None of the toasters worked - Pillows are old and need to be replaced. - Garage is very tight and difficult to maneuver in an SUV. - Room looked out on an alley way.

No pool. No hot breakfast. And no apology. Overpriced. We don't appreciate being misled. They charged us a hire rate then what they are asking now, and charged us for the full 3 days before we were even able to check in. This is not how professionals do business.

We were to stay at the Daphne AL location but they had a flood of the first floor rooms (pet rooms) on the day of our check in. I had 2 cats with me and had closed on my house so nowhere to stay. The manager said they have a property in Mobile... OMG what a dump..Full size bed for 2 people that are over 5'5" $150 deposit for the cats, $57 a night for 8 nights, prepaid in advance of course!! No housekeeping, no kitchen utensils, pans, silverware etc About as bare bones as you can get! They exchanged the towels and linen daily, that was about the only perk. Migrant workers drinking in the parking lots.. They would not extend an hour past check out. We wanted to look at a house but were denied so had to take the cats with us.. VERY disappointing.

Hotel is poorly staffed. Had to wait for staff to show up when I checked in. Kitchen had NO equipment to use it (pot, utensils, etc). With no hotel staff present, guests staying there linger in the hallways and parking lot all night drinking. Required to pay $150 deposit upon arrival that was not mentioned in any part of the reservation. Paperwork signed says deposit will be refunded immediately upon check out. 3 business days later refund has still not been processed. Tried to contact the hotel directly to no avail as not staff present. Contacted Choice Hotels customer service directly. Agents there also could not get anyone at the hotel to answer. Was told that there was nothing that Choice Hotels can do to help me and that I would need to keep trying to get someone to answer the at the hotel. DO NOT stay here. It is not worth the hassle.

This is place is beautiful and some of the front desk receptionist was outstanding, but the manager over house keeping seemed to be stressed and couldn’t give me any clean linen for me to change my own linen. I asked when I was booking my room was there any deposit fee such as damage or any other fees outside of the room fee and was told no. Only to arrive a check in and was told the GM just started charging $150 deposit, I told the receptionist I was told there wouldn’t be any other charges, the receptionist told me they say that to make a sell. Now imagine if I would have booked a room for a client telling them there wasn’t any hidden fees, oh by the way it’s not written anywhere on the policy. The beds are very small and my bath tub and shower curtains had hair for the world which I had to clean. I was very disappointed and I couldn’t go anywhere else because they had already took out for the first night after I told them I would pay on the property. As a travel agent I would not be sending anyone here.
